Most men have to face up the reality of going bald eventually \u2013 even future kings. It\u2019s no secret that Prince William<\/strong><\/a> has been facing thinning locks for quite some time. Apparently he isn\u2019t too sensitive about it though, with wife Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a> teasing him about his predicament.<\/p>\n

King Charles<\/a>\u2018 former butler Grant Harrold has written a memoir, and he is spilling plenty of tea<\/a>. While the latest excerpts aren\u2019t exactly earth-shatteringly juicy, they do provide a nice glimpse into the relationship between William and Kate.<\/p>\n

In his new book, the former Buckingham Palace staffer says that he accidentally put his foot in his mouth by mentioning balding. But William and Kate\u2019s reactions offered a glimpse into their playful dynamic.<\/p>\n

In a passage from The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service obtained by US Weekly<\/a>, Grant writes: \u201cI said that surely the worst thing about aging was losing your hair and going bald. Kate started sniggering and William gave me a look and said, \u2018Thanks for that.\u2019 It hadn\u2019t occurred to me that, of course, by then he was starting to lose his hair.\u201d Teasing your partner about a minor insecurity? Kind of relatable.<\/p>\n

Grant noted that the prince \u201calways took any comments, intended or otherwise, in good humor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former butler isn\u2019t the only one to have brought up William\u2019s receding hairline. In his autobiography, Spare<\/a>, Prince Harry got a bit of a dig in at his brother. Recounting seeing his brother at Prince Philip\u2019s funeral in 2021, he wrote: \u201cI looked at Willy, really looked at him, perhaps for the first time since we were little, taking in every detail: his familiar scowl, which had always been the norm in his dealings with me,\u201d adding William\u2019s thinning hair was \u201calarming\u201d and more \u201cadvanced\u201d than his own. Burn.<\/p>\n

For his part, William seems to be able to laugh at his unfortunate hairline. Speaking at an event in 2020, he joked: \u201cI don\u2019t know if you guys have heard about the Earthshot Prize, but it\u2019s an initiative I started about two years ago. Now, although it\u2019s been about four years in the making, I had hair when it started\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
