Imagine being a prince or princess and not being able to lord your title over your peers. Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a> and Prince William<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s<\/a><\/strong> kids aren\u2019t allowed to use their royal titles at school. Instead, George, Charlotte and Louis go by a regular surname in order to blend in with the common folk.<\/p>\n

If you want to fit in with the crowd, you have to be at one with the peasants. Kate and William\u2019s three kids don\u2019t use their prince and princess titles at school. The decision was made to give the kids a fighting chance at blending in with the other children, reports People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instead, they are referred to by their teachers and peers as George Wales, Charlotte Wales and Louis Wales. The surname comes from their parents\u2019 royal titles \u2013 the Prince and Princess of Wales. William and Harry<\/a> used the same surname when they were younger.<\/p>\n

While the decision has been made with the children\u2019s best interests at heart, we doubt one of the Wales kids has a problem with standing out as royalty. A few years ago, Prince George is reported to have told his schoolmates: \u201cMy dad will be king, so you better watch out,\u201d according to author Katie Nicholl. We can definitely see that sassy (future) king telling his peers to refer to him as His Royal Highness.<\/p>\n

The kids were previously referred to using the surname Cambridge, based on their parents\u2019 previous titles (i.e. the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge). The couple inherited the Wales peerage when Charles<\/a>, previously the Prince of Wales, became king in 2022.<\/p>\n
