LEGO has announced its biggest ever Star Wars product, with an absolutely humongous Death Star set<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The recreation of the Galactic Empire’s ultimate planet-killing weapon combines elements from the two different models from A New Hope and Return of the Jedi, including Princess Leia’s holding cell, the trash compactor, the tractor beam room, the shuttle hanger, and Emperor Palpatine’s throne room.<\/p>\n

Coming in at a whopping 9,023 pieces, this is sure to take a very long time to build.<\/p>\n

It also comes with 38 minifigures of Star Wars characters, including Leia, Palpatine, multiple versions of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, Darth Vader, Director Krennic and more.<\/p>\n

As a nod to the running joke in the LEGO Star Wars video games, it also includes some Stormtroopers in a hot tub (although they actually appear in the Tantive IV levels).<\/p>\n

The mammoth Ultimate Collector’s Series Death Star set will be available for purchase from Saturday, 4 October on general release. LEGO Insider members get to buy it a few days early, on Wednesday, 1 October.<\/p>\n

Hopefully you’ve got some Republic Credits saved up, as the set is pretty pricey. In the UK, it retails for \u00a3899.99, \u20ac999.99 in Europe, and $999.99 in the the United States.<\/p>\n

LEGO is throwing in a free TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack set with each purchase made before 7 October, or before stock runs out.<\/p>\n

The first 5,000 LEGO Insider members to purchase the Death Star set will also get an exclusive numbered poster.<\/p>\n
