for passengers.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The new timetable\u00a0\u2013 which comes into effect in December \u2013\u00a0is believed to be the biggest timetable transformation in more than a decade.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/news\/25441406.john-swinney-responds-concerns-saltire-hijacked-far-right\/?rel=cl_lsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Swinney responds to concerns &#8216;Saltire being hijacked by far right&#8217;<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  There will be five more LNER trains running per weekday from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/local-news\/edinburgh-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edinburgh<\/a> Waverley to London King&#8217;s Cross, while travel time between Edinburgh and London will be cut to around four hours and 10 minutes on many of the faster services.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Elsewhere in Scotland, LNER will operate four services from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/local-news\/aberdeen-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aberdeen<\/a> to London King&#8217;s Cross each weekday, which will also call at additional stations in England.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The LNER daily direct service between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/local-news\/inverness-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inverness<\/a> and London King&#8217;s Cross is also set to call at more destinations.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Commenting, David Horne, managing director at LNER, said:\u00a0\u201cThe new timetable will enable us to serve many destinations more frequently and guarantee thousands of extra seats each day where they are needed most, providing customers with more choice when it comes to greener and more sustainable journeys. \u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cAcross our route, we have recruited hundreds of additional colleagues, from drivers to onboard crews and station teams, in readiness for the major change.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cAs an industry, we\u2019ve been preparing for many years, and we continue to work together to deliver the biggest timetable change in more than a decade for our customers and the communities we serve.\u201d \u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  LNER said the new timetable will allow for 60,000 extra seats per week, which is almost enough to fill Edinburgh&#8217;s Murrayfield Stadium.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The announcement was welcomed by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, which said it &#8220;supports good economic growth&#8221;
