When Kyogo Furuhashi left Celtic in January, not even the most negative of Celtic supporters thought the club would be in this current situation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Celtic board have always taken verbal hits<\/a>, but this time around, they managed to outdo themselves, especially with how they have dealt with the striker department.<\/p>\n

Just 24 hours after the 2025 summer transfer window<\/a> slammed shut, Celtic announced the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho<\/a> as a free agent after his contract at Sevilla was mutually terminated. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s a signing that hasn\u2019t gone down well with the Celtic Park<\/a> supporters because, on top of that, Adam Idah has left for Swansea City<\/a> in a \u00a37 million deal, and many feel that adequate replacements haven\u2019t come in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s \u00a317 million of striker quality that has gone out of the door. How has it been replaced? <\/p>\n

A youngster, with zero senior appearances, signing from Fulham (Callum Osmand), and an unknown figure coming in from the J-League (Shin Yamada). On top of Iheanacho<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Go Radio, Stephen O\u2019Donnell<\/a> expressed how that Celtic<\/a> don\u2019t need to be in positions where they are signing free agents and they have \u2018plenty of money\u2019 in the bank to properly enhance the squad.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom a Celtic perspective, the signings, have they brought in enough quality to replace what left?\u201d questioned O\u2019Donnell. \u201cI don\u2019t think so.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a tough couple of months for the club to try and get everyone bedded in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the Iheanacho signing being a panic: \u201c100%. I don\u2019t think Celtic needs to be in a position to be trying to get free agents.\u00a0I think Celtic have plenty of money to be spending and getting the people they want in early. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I would say would add more restlessness to the Celtic support is that they were disappointed coming out of the Champions League. <\/p>\n

\u201cThen followed up by a disappointing performance against Rangers, albeit the result was fine. They are still top of the league.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Iheanacho\u2019s record under Brendan Rodgers<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, Celtic fans will need to get behind Iheanacho<\/a> because there is another title to win.<\/p>\n

Even amongst all this negativity and that borefest of a Glasgow derby<\/a>, it\u2019s still the champions of Scotland<\/a> sitting top of the tree.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The positives need to be looked at, and that\u2019s the fact that Rodgers knows Iheanacho\u2019s game very well after he coached him at Leicester City.\u00a0<\/p>\n
