Georgia Tennant<\/a> has told how she and husband David<\/a> navigate their family life with two neurodiverse children<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old actress gave a candid interview about her domestic setup with the former Doctor Who<\/a>, stating the clan only eat together as a family once a year. Two of the couple’s fibe children have special requirements, Georgia explained in a recent podcast.<\/p>\n

“I don’t understand how people sit around and all eat together. We’ve got a lot of neurodiverse kids so a couple of them don’t like eating around other people. They go and eat in separate rooms,” Georgia, who met 54-year-old David during work on Doctor Who in 2008, said.<\/p>\n

Fans have heaped praise on Georgia, who with David has son Ty, 23 – Georgia’s son from a previous relationship – and Olive, 14, Wilfred, 12, Doris, ten, and five-year-old Birdie. One mum posted on social media: “Sounds challenging, you’re doing well Georgia.” Another posted: “You got this, Georgia.”<\/p>\n

Georgia, daughter of former Doctor Who star Peter Davison, spoke about her kids on Russell Howard’s Five Brilliant Things podcast<\/a>. She continued: “A couple of them won’t eat the same food, so we have to cook a different meal for them. Mealtime is like two and a half hours of me wandering around the house serving different people in different rooms.”<\/p>\n

The actress, born in Hammersmith, west London, explained the different requirements mean her family rarely eat together at home, with Christmas<\/a> the significant exception. Her experience mirrors that of other parents across the country after a recent survey found screen time is threatening to put play to chat at the dinner table<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Georgia, who was in BBC<\/a> drama The Way last year, candidly described scenes at her home – at pubs when sh does manage to get her clan out together. She said: “We never [eat together]. Christmas, I think we do. Every now and again, we’ll go to a pub and we’ll all sit down and it’s just a f***ing nightmare. I just want to go home. They’re crawling on the table, one’s got headphones on. It’s just like, no.”<\/p>\n

Georgia was 16 when she had Ty from a previous relationship. Ty, now adopted by David, is himself an actor and has recently had roles in series, including War of the Worlds and House of the Dragon. Since marrying David, Georgia has had four children with the BAFTA-winning Scottish actor.<\/p>\n

Gushing about her husband and kids, Georgia also said on the podcast: “I like how different they are. It seemed weird<\/a> that two people can keep creating such a different smorgasbord of humans. And that’s really fascinating.<\/p>\n

“This is a man (David) who likes a sandwich with many, many things inside it. He really likes a potato, he really loves a big old sandwich. It’s just not for me.
