Areas in the firing line include <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/london\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LondonLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a>, Kent, Essex and Southampton, as well as <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/birmingham\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"BirminghamLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a>, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester<\/a> and Newcastle further north.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In Scotland, Inverness and Aberdeen are among the city braced for steady downpours while Belfast and surrounding areas in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/northern-ireland\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Northern IrelandLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Northern Ireland<\/a> also look set for a soaking. Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds, especially if any deep areas of low pressure develop and affect the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Later in the period, there may be some longer spells of drier <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/weather\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">weather<\/a> that develop, especially towards the south, with more in the way of sunshine due to higher pressure here. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/bbc\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> Weather&#8217;s outlook for September 8 to 14 states: &#8220;The first half of next week should remain unsettled, with more rain or showers expected as further low pressure and frontal systems arrive from the west.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;There could once again be some isolated thunderstorms and locally heavy rain, and temperatures will ease, most likely fluctuating just above the September average, though no significant cool-down is anticipated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Some strong and gusty winds could be on the cards at times as the rain comes and goes, but a calmer and drier couple of days is possible in the second half of the week as transient high pressure ridges potentially cross the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;However, further rain or showers could be in the offing by the end of the week, with high pressure not fully taking hold. The northern and western UK may be wetter than southern and eastern regions.
