Whether leading councils or serving in opposition, our local representatives work hard to uphold Conservative values of efficiency, accountability, and community empowerment, often under immense financial pressure and in complex regulatory environments. Stripping out wasteful spending is in our DNA (and we don’t need to make up some PR stunt about a ‘DOGE’).

And just as importantly, we fix more potholes. Conservative councils repair five times more length of road than Labour authorities.

Do you know a Conservative Councillor who needs the spotlight?

Too often, the incredible work of councillors happens quietly, without recognition. That is why we are launching the very first CCA Awards, a new initiative dedicated to celebrating the innovation, leadership, and dedication of Conservative councillors across the UK.

The inaugural Awards Ceremony will be at the CCA party conference drinks reception and will be a moment for us to come together, and take pride in the difference councillors are making. The contribution could be tackling antisocial behaviour, fostering wider community engagement, protecting cherished green spaces, or scrutinising and developing policy. Conservative councillors make a real difference.

The four awards categories…

A panel of respected party representatives will judge entries across four categories:

Campaigner of the Year – honouring a councillor whose energy and commitment to campaigning has made a real impact.

Councillor of the Year – awarded to a councillor who has demonstrated outstanding contribution, leadership and results since May 2024.

New Councillor of the Year – recognising those elected since May 2024 who have hit the ground running and already made their mark.

The Lifetime Achievement Award – paying tribute to current or former councillor whose dedication and service have left a lasting legacy.

How to Get Involved

Nominations are now open and will close on 20th September.
