{"id":399401,"date":"2025-09-05T07:33:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T07:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/399401\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T07:33:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T07:33:09","slug":"joe-biden-undergoes-skin-cancer-surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/399401\/","title":{"rendered":"Joe Biden undergoes skin cancer surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Former US President Joe Biden recently underwent skin cancer surgery, his spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Biden had Mohs surgery, she told the BBC&#8217;s US partner CBS News, but did not immediately provide further details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The procedure is used to cut away skin until no evidence of cancer remains.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The 82-year-old had been spotted with a wound on the right side of his head in recent days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">In 2023, Biden <a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-us-canada-64844276\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\" rel=\"noopener\">had a cancerous skin lesion removed from his chest<\/a> during a routine health screening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">In May, <a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cwywqg7lq1zo\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\" rel=\"noopener\">he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer<\/a> that has spread to his bones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">&#8220;Cancer touches us all,&#8221; Biden wrote on social media at the time. &#8220;Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Biden also had several non-melanoma skin cancers removed in the past, before he became president.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">He has largely retreated from the public eye since leaving the White House in January and has made few public appearances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The Bidens have long been strong advocates for fighting and curing cancer.
