The Met Office has said it will be a sunny start for Merseyside before showers are set to hit later on. Forecasters said “light” rain is predicted between 11am and 12pm on Friday, September 5<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is then set to clear by 1pm, leaving some sunshine and cloud. Temperatures will reach highs of 19C and lows of 13C, according to the Met Office. BBC<\/a> Weather<\/a> has also predicted a similar pattern and said in the afternoon, “patchy cloud will bubble up widely, potentially bringing one or two showers inland”.<\/p>\n

By the evening, it will be dry with “late sunshine”. Tonight it is expected to be dry and generally calm and there will be a mixture of variable cloud and clear spells throughout. The brighter weather comes after a 15-hour thunderstorm warning on September 4<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The yellow weather warning was in place from 2am on September 4 until 5pm the same day for “heavy showers” and thunderstorms. For its North West weather outlook, the Met Office said Saturday will be a “dry start to the weekend”.<\/p>\n

It added: “Spells of sunshine, though turning hazy as cloud builds during the day. Breezier than Friday but still feeling warm when sheltered. Maximum temperature 21C.”<\/p>\n

For its outlook for Sunday to Tuesday in the North West, the Met Office said: “Turning unsettled from Sunday and into the new week with gusty winds, outbreaks of rain and heavy showers. Occasional brighter breaks possible. Humid on Sunday, then slightly fresher next week.”<\/p>\n

The Met Office confirmed the summer of 2025 was the UK\u2019s warmest on record. The mean average temperature across June, July and August was a provisional 16.10C, beating the previous seasonal high of 15.76C set in 2018.<\/p>\n

Four heatwaves hit the UK this summer, all of which saw temperatures climb above 30C, though none was quite as fierce as the heatwave of July 2022 when an all-time high of 40.3C was reached.<\/p>\n
