{"id":399511,"date":"2025-09-05T08:31:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T08:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/399511\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T08:31:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T08:31:11","slug":"lance-stroll-responds-to-aston-martin-f1-retirement-request-rumour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/399511\/","title":{"rendered":"Lance Stroll responds to Aston Martin F1 retirement request rumour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/tag\/stroll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lance Stroll<\/a> has responded to rumours floating during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Formula 1<\/a> Dutch Grand Prix, suggesting that the Aston Martin driver requested retirement from the sport.<\/p>\n<p>Stroll has come under the scrutineering eye of the media and fans alike throughout his F1 career. <\/p>\n<p>And while he has shown flashes of brilliance, one of the biggest criticisms he has faced is that his father, Lawrence Stroll, has assisted his presence in the paddock.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, Stroll\u2019s apparent lack of interest has been correlated with his results on track. In fact, rumours of him seeking an exit from the sport are nothing new.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, he was tipped to exit Aston Martin to try his hand at professional tennis.<\/p>\n<p>At the Dutch GP, last weekend, Brazilian television suggested that he had made repeated requests to the Silverstone-based team for an exit from the team and the sport. <\/p>\n<p>However, according to the reporter, at both times, his father intervened and blocked the move. Stroll, though, has issued a categorical denial when asked about that claim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had no plans on doing that,\u201d he clarified to media including <strong>Motorsport Week<\/strong>. \u201cNot sure where that came from.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess he needed something to say! I had no plans on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Fernando-Alonso-F1-Dutch-GP-1-1024x576.webp.webp\" alt=\"Fernando Alonso finished behind Aston Martin team-mate Lance Stroll at Zandvoort\" class=\"wp-image-221436\"  \/>Fernando Alonso finished behind Aston Martin team-mate Lance Stroll at Zandvoort<\/p>\n<p>Stroll looking forward to Monza <\/p>\n<p>Stroll has always driven for midfield teams, he has shown a proclivity for pulling out a result at the Temple of Speed.<\/p>\n<p>Back in 2017, he started the Italian Grand Prix from the front row of the grid, eventually finishing seventh. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in 2020, he climbed his way onto the podium alongside the likes of Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz.<\/p>\n<p>Stroll conceded that he has always enjoyed driving at Monza and looks forward to the race weekend with Aston Martin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood memories from \u201917 and \u201920, for sure,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt\u2019s a track I always enjoy coming back to.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe track, the fans, the energy around the whole weekend, it\u2019s very special. It\u2019s very unique.
