Closing their Railway 200 celebrations, there will be frequent train departures, locomotive changes and the chance to ride in the guard\u2019s van of a freight train. Featuring multiple locos from their collection, this event is always popular, and is a great day for enthusiasts and families alike. Joining the locos this year will be a steam roller (pictured) in the car park. 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday, Moor Road, LS10 2JG.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Leeds11Cems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Volunteers<\/strong><\/a> will be meeting at 10am on Saturday at <strong>Hunslet Cemetery<\/strong>, Middleton Road, to carry out various tidying up activities. New people are always welcome and equipment is provided.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100072160474141\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Church of the Nazarene<\/strong><\/a> host a coffee morning with affordable <strong>breakfast<\/strong> on Saturday morning, 10am-12pm. Lupton Street, Hunslet, LS10 2QR.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday also sees the <a href=\"https:\/\/southleedslife.com\/explore-the-natural-environment-at-skeleton-grange-this-saturday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Skelton Grange Environment Centre\u2019s Open Day<\/strong><\/a>. Featuring willow weaving, tree walks, circus skills, alpacas, cake and pizza. 11am-4pm, LS10 1RS.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MustardWharfLeeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tower Works Street Fest<\/strong><\/a> continues on Saturday and Sunday, 12-9pm, off Water Lane in Holbeck. You will find fresh produce and street food to handmade crafts, original art, craft beer, specialty coffee, live music, and so much more.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday sees <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hunsletnelson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Hunslet Nelson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s First XI take on Altofts CC at their Gipsy Lane ground, LS11 5TT starting at 12pm. Then on Sunday they play Wrenthorpe CC starting at 1pm<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday afternoon the <a href=\"https:\/\/southleedslife.com\/get-your-stuff-fixed-at-beeston-repair-cafe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Beeston Repair Caf\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> launches. Bring broken electricals, cloths needing alterations, a bike that needs attention. The volunteer fixers will do their best to mend them. 1-4pm at St Luke\u2019s CARES shop, 246 Dewsbury Road, LS11 6JQ.<\/p>\n<p>14 Piece Funk &amp; Soul outfit The Good Foot Collective are headlining a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1460639988306510\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>benefit concert for Leeds Hospital Charity<\/strong><\/a> on Saturday at Eiger Studios New Craven Gate, LS11 5NF. <a href=\"https:\/\/register.enthuse.com\/ps\/event\/TheGoodFootCollectiveCharityGig\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Book tickets here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064776724109\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Friends of Middleton Park<\/strong><\/a> are holding their monthly <strong>litterpick<\/strong> on Sunday, meeting at the visitor centre by the lake at 1:30pm. Equipment is provided so why not join them and help make sure the park looks its best for the Great Middleton Park Show next week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HUNSLETRLFC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Hunslet RLFC<\/strong><\/a> take on Sheffield Eagles at South Leeds Stadium on Sunday afternoon, kicking off at 3pm. Plans include improvements to neighbouring public open space and the diversion of a right of way. This is a chance to raise concerns or ask questions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WYPLeedsSouth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team<\/strong><\/a> in an informal setting. On Tuesday they will be at Hunslet Community Hub &amp; Library from 10am-12pm. On Wednesday they are at Dewsbury Road Community Hub &amp; Library, 10am-12pm and at Ingram Gardens Community Centre from 10am-12pm. Finally they will be at Beeston Community Hub &amp; Library on Town Street on Thursday 10am-12pm.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday 9 September, 2:45-4pm you can sit in on an <strong>open rehearsal<\/strong> by the string players of the Orchestra of <strong>Opera North<\/strong> at St John &amp; St Barnabas Church, Belle Isle Road, LS10 3DN. This a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of a professional rehearsal and hear some beautiful music. No need to book and refreshments are provided.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday evening join a <strong>Bat Walk in Hunslet Cemetery<\/strong> for an evening you won\u2019t forget. Led by a Countryside Ranger, the walk starts from the chapel on Middleton Road, LS10 3BN. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/evening-bat-walk-hunslet-cemetery-tickets-1590433392089\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Booking essential here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men\u2019s Talk<\/strong> is a theatre performance by men with lived experience of mental health issues. It is being performed on Wednesday at 10am at St Matthew\u2019s Community Centre in Holbeck LS11 9NR.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beowulf<\/strong> is a rather different theatre performance on Wednesday evening. It\u2019s a wry and lively dissection of heroes, storytelling, and mythmaking. Over an hour, four storytellers recount Beowulf\u2019s exploits; from battling Grendel to defeating witches and confronting dragons. However, they can\u2019t resist interjecting with arguments about divinity, badgers, and the appropriate rewards for overcoming mythical beasts. 8pm at Slung Low\u2019s Warehouse in Holbeck, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketsource.co.uk\/whats-on\/leeds\/slung-low-at-the-warehouse-in-holbeck\/beowulf-a-play-about-stories\/2025-09-10\/20:00\/t-vvlevrm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>book tickets here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There is a drop-in <strong>councillor surgery<\/strong> at Gascoigne House, LS10 4YA in Middleton on Thursday morning 9-10am.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belle Isle Parade Garden Action Day<\/strong> is on Thursday from 12:30-4pm. Meet at gates next to the Post Office on Belle Isle Parade.
