Patrick Bamford is likely to agree terms with a new club imminently after being snubbed by Celtic as he continues to assess his options.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a><\/strong>, senior correspondent Pete O\u2019Rourke<\/a> revealed what sources have said about the the 32-year-old\u2019s future after he was released by Leeds United in August.<\/p>\n

Celtic held talks over the possibility of signing the striker, but never pushed to agree terms before opting to pursue a deal for Kelechi Iheanacho<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong> revealed in July that Bamford is open to staying in England or moving abroad<\/a> with a number of domestic, European and MLS sides keeping tabs.<\/p>\n

The likes of Wrexham, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth have all been linked with moves for the former England international, whose future remains undecided.<\/p>\n

This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> in December that multiple Championship clubs want to sign Bamford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bamford\u2019s former Burnley teammate and former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider<\/strong> on 4 August that Bamford must choose his next club wisely<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After seven years at Elland Road, where he made 205 appearances and scored 60 goals, the striker is still seen as a capable option in the Championship despite some doubts.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Rourke explained that his future now looks likely to be decided soon following the end of the transfer window as clubs are still looking to strengthen up front.<\/p>\n

\u201cBamford had his contract cancelled to allow him to explore his options,\u201d he told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cCeltic obviously showed a bit of interest but didn\u2019t really push forward for a deal with Bamford as they looked for a striker so late on in the window.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey obviously got a deal for Kelechi Iheanacho over the line instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cBamford is a top player, maybe he wasn\u2019t going to be in the picture for Leeds in the Premier League but he\u2019s proven he can do it in the Championship.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of clubs who didn\u2019t get the reinforcements they wanted in the summer will look at him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s one of the better free agents in the market right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf any clubs still need a striker, Bamford will be high on their list and I expect his future will be resolved and he will find a new club soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh Brownhill decides next club in blow to Celtic plans<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bamford is not the only free agent to have been linked with a move to Parkhead after the end of the summer transfer window, with Josh Brownhill on their radar.<\/p>\n

However, Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 5 September that Celtic are set to miss out on Brownhill<\/a> as he is set to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al Shabab.<\/p>\n

Reports have claimed the former Burnley<\/a> midfielder is set to put pen to paper on a deal which will see him earn over \u00a3100,000 per week in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Alongside Celtic, the likes of Leeds, Wolves, Leicester, Everton<\/a> and West Ham<\/a> have also expressed an interest this summer, but all now look set to miss out.<\/p>\n
