A major police presence descended on a Bolton<\/a> estate after a man was ‘seen with a machete’.<\/p>\n

Several police vehicles – including a helicopter – were seen around Silchester Way, in Breightmet<\/a>, at around 7.30pm on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> says it responded to a ‘disturbance’ which left one person with a ‘minor injury’.<\/p>\n

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.<\/p>\n

The Manchester Evening News understands the weapon involved was a machete.<\/p>\n

Officers are continuing with their enquiries today (Friday).<\/p>\n

A GMP spokesperson said: “At around 7.30pm last night (September 4), officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Silchester Way, Bolton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“A man, aged 25, has been arrested on suspicion of possession an offensive weapon. Enquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n

“One person received a minor injury that was not life-threatening or changing.”<\/p>\n
