Leeds United\u2019s transfer business ended on a frustrating note with no deadline-day arrivals, but Nedum Onuoha believes Daniel Farke still has the tools to avoid relegation.<\/p>\n
Speaking on James Lawrence Allcott\u2019s YouTube channel, the former Manchester City<\/strong><\/a> defender said he has seen enough to suggest Leeds<\/strong><\/a> are well placed for a survival fight.<\/p>\n Onuoha highlighted style as a key factor.<\/p>\n \u201cYou need forwards that are going to fit in with how the team wants to play. They\u2019re going to have to make teams uncomfortable if they\u2019re going to be staying up.<\/p>\n \u201cI think for now, the players that they have are probably going to suit that.\u201d<\/p>\n He singled out Sean Longstaff\u2019s arrival from Newcastle as an especially smart move. \u201cI think that\u2019s sneaky good signing, somebody we\u2019ve seen do well in the Premier League before, and to get him for \u00a312million.\u201d<\/p>\n Height and power were a theme of Leeds\u2019 summer, although one source of frustration has been the lack of a natural set-piece take, resulting in 6ft 4 German Anton Stach delivering corners.<\/p>\n Onuoha understood but warned that physicality is not everything. \u201cYeah, some of it might have to do with trying to defend modern-day set-pieces, because from corners recently, inswinging is so in vogue, getting as many as you can into that six-yard box.<\/p>\n MORE LEEDS COVERAGE ON F365\u2026 \u201cIf you\u2019re going to be playing against the likes of Arsenal, you\u2019ve got to be able to back yourself physically.<\/p>\n \u201cIt depends on how you\u2019re going to use height to your advantage because not every game is just played in the air and being super physical.<\/p>\n \u201cI get it, and I also think, for Farke, he\u2019s in a good position in some ways because he\u2019s getting a chance to do it again with his past experiences in his mind, knowing that this is the way it has to be.\u201d<\/p>\n Elland Road is another factor Onuoha believes could tilt the odds in Leeds\u2019 favour. \u201cYou feel like in those old stadiums, there\u2019s a different sound.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s the same as Sunderland. A lot of people forgot that their stadium is one of the top 10 biggest in the country. So like Sunderland\u2019s capacity, I think it\u2019s like 48,000.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, because they\u2019ve not been in the Premier League, it\u2019s easy to forget their status.
