{"id":400654,"date":"2025-09-05T18:37:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T18:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/400654\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T18:37:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T18:37:09","slug":"ukraine-drones-hit-one-of-russias-biggest-refineries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/400654\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine Drones Hit One of Russia\u2019s Biggest Refineries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"speakable\">Ukraine attacked with drones Rosneft\u2019s Ryazan refinery in Russia, again, the commander of Ukraine\u2019s drone forces, Robert Brovdi, <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/robert_magyar\/1320\">said<\/a> on Friday, as eyewitnesses reported explosions, a fire, and thick smoke near the refinery in the region southeast of Moscow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Ryazan refinery operated by oil giant Rosneft is one of the biggest crude processing plants in Russia with a capacity to process more than 260,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude\u2014or 5% of Russia\u2019s refining capacity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine also attacked early on Friday an oil depot in the Luhansk region, which is occupied by Russia, the Ukrainian army said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The hit on the Ryazan refinery is one of several Rosneft has sustained at its facility this year, including a drone hit in August, when Ukraine intensified attacks against key energy infrastructure in Russia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Several refineries in Russia sustained damages during Ukrainian drone strikes last month.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine also targeted in August Rosneft\u2019s Saratov Refinery in the Volga region with the capacity to process 140,000 bpd of crude. The facility had to temporarily <a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/Drone-Strike-Halts-Rosneft-Oil-Refinery-Operations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspend<\/a> intake of crude and processing operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A Lukoil refinery in the Russian city of Volgograd <a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/Ukrainian-Drones-Hit-Another-Russian-Oil-Refinery.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">caught fire<\/a> after being hit by Ukrainian drones in the middle of August. The Volgograd refinery is Lukoil\u2019s second-biggest crude processing facility in Russia and a key fuel supplier to the southern federal district in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past four weeks, Ukrainian drones have caused various degrees of damage at at least half a dozen refineries in Russia and at the fuel loading and gas processing complex at the <a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/Repairs-at-Drone-Damaged-Russian-Baltic-Fuel-Port-Could-Take-Months.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ust-Luga port<\/a> on the Russian Baltic Sea.
