The family of veteran Nollywood actress, Peju Ogunmola, has released an official statement to clarify the cause of death of her only child, Ayomikun, debunking online claims that he died in a bathroom accident in the UK.\n<\/p>\n
The Nigerian movie industry was plunged into mourning following the news of the young man\u2019s passing.\n<\/p>\n
In the wake of his death, various reports circulated on social media, alleging that he had died from a fall in a bathroom.\n<\/p>\n
A statement signed by the family\u2019s spokesperson, Yemi Amodu, on Friday, confirmed that he passed away after a brief illness in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, and has since been buried.<\/p>\n
The statement read, \u201cIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle (son of Sunday and Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle), a jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cHis departure is a profound loss to our family and to all who knew and loved him.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports being circulated online.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was briefly unwell and, during this period, received first-class medical care.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite the best efforts of the medical team, he peacefully answered the call of his creator. He passed away at a hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria and has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
The family, through its spokesperson, warned against spreading wrong information. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe strongly urge the public to disregard the unfounded claims being spread by some bloggers.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThese misleading stories, suggesting that Sola died from a fall in the bathroom without help, are entirely false.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThey not only dishonour his memory but also bring unnecessary pain to his loved ones,\u201d the statement added.\n<\/p>\n
The family concluded by expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received.<\/p>\n
They also prayed that no family would have to experience such a profound and untimely loss.\n<\/p>\n
