Kevin De Bruyne took part in his final Manchester derby on Sunday as Manchester City were held to a dull 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Belgian announced on Friday that he will be leaving the Etihad Stadium<\/a> when his contract expires this summer \u2013 bringing an end to his hugely successful decade at Manchester City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pep Guardiola<\/a> unsurprisingly started the Manchester City No.17 \u2013 who led the Citizens out as captain \u2013 although he failed to snatch a headline moment in what was largely an uneventful match at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

There was \u2013 however \u2013 a nice moment for Kevin De Bruyne<\/a> as soon as the Manchester derby ended.<\/p>\n

The man from Drongen is a highly respected figure across the football world.<\/p>\n

Toni Kroos sent De Bruyne a message<\/a> after hearing about his imminent departure, and Bruno Fernandes was another to recognise the midfielder\u2019s accomplishments after the Manchester derby.<\/p>\n

The Portugal international was caught on camera by Sky Sports embracing the Belgian and patting him on the stomach, as the pair engaged in a lengthy chat on the pitch after the final whistle.<\/p>\n

Manchester City fans serenade Kevin De Bruyne at Old Trafford<\/p>\n

The Manchester derby represented the first chance Manchester City fans had to show their appreciation for the Belgium international after his statement<\/a> on Friday, and they took it immediately.<\/p>\n

De Bruyne could hear his chant \u2013 which goes \u2018oh Kevin De Bruyne\u2019 \u2013 being bellowed out by the away end inside Old Trafford for almost the entirely of the first minute, although a scary moment involving Alejandro Garnacho and Ruben Dias<\/a> brought an abrupt end to the song as the Argentine almost won a penalty.<\/p>\n

Supporters also heralded the midfielder after the final whistle too.<\/p>\n

Sadly, it was a quiet display from the man who turns 34 in June \u2013 a sign of just how much he has given to Manchester City over the years \u2013 completing just 20 passes in 90 minutes while winning only one of his nine duels.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, nobody will begrudge De Bruyne for that, after a remarkable haul of 106 goals and 176 assists in 413 games for Manchester City since his arrival from VfL Wolfsburg in 2015.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
