But the players remain upbeat, says Jaka Bijol.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Watching their Premier League rivals, and their promotion contenders in Burnley and Sunderland do business on the final day of the summer transfer window would\u2019ve made for tough watching at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds United<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/club\/manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniel Farke<\/a> wanted to sign new players on deadline day but ended the summer without one, despite links to a number of players including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/its-all-coming-out-now-as-leeds-united-and-fulham-sources-in-disagreement-over-harry-wilson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a late Leeds United push to sign Harry Wilson<\/a> from Fulham.<\/p>\n<p>Since, many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/news\/leeds-united-fans-all-in-agreement-about-the-49ers-after-deadline-day-every-penny-they-said\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds fans have voiced concerns about the season<\/a> ahead. So too many pundits with the overriding fear being that Leeds United simply don\u2019t have enough firepower to keep themselves in the Premier League this season.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2227789687-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Jaka Bigol and Daniel Farke embrace during Leeds United vs Villarreal.\" class=\"wp-image-107106\" \/>Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt \u2013 AMA\/Getty ImagesJaka Bijol says Leeds United players remain positive for the season<\/p>\n<p>Despite Leeds fans\u2019 fears, Farke finds his side in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/league-table\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">12th place of the Premier League table<\/a> going into this September international break. Barring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/opinion\/daniel-farke-learned-three-brutal-lessons-vs-arsenal-as-leeds-united-torn-apart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds United\u2019s 5-0 defeat against Arsenal<\/a>, the Whites have looked steady in a win over Everton and a goalless draw against Newcastle last time out.<\/p>\n<p>The international break gives Farke time to take stock, but one player currently away is summer signing Jaka Bijol. Speaking with Slovenian outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/planetnogomet.si\/reprezentanca\/jaka-bijol-tiskovna-slovenija-svedska-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Planet Nogomet<\/a>, the Slovenian centre-half spoke positively about the mood among Leeds United players after deadline day came and went.<\/p>\n<p>He explained: \u201cAll the guys are full of confidence, also because of our previous achievements. We know we can play with anyone. We are ready for a tough opponent. But behind the scenes and in his mind, he\u2019s surely wondering who will score the goals to keep Leeds United in the Premier League this season, as are so many others.<\/p>\n<p>MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES<\/p>\n<p>And Farke\u2019s fears could be traced back to comments he made at the end o<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/opinion\/daniel-farke-has-already-predicted-leeds-uniteds-fate-after-deadline-day-disaster-this-club-needs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">f last season. Farke made his demands of the Leeds United owners<\/a>, urging them to be ambitious and made some top quality signings in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cWe won\u2019t speak about the Premier League for the next few days\u2026 but this club needs a perfect summer and top-class decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whilst good signings were made, not enough firepower was added. Good signings were made in almost every other position on the pitch instead.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s huge pressure now riding on the likes of Lukas Nmecha, Joel Piroe, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin: the latter in particular, given that he\u2019s the sole striker with Premier League experience at Leeds United.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Leeds United fans are certainly fearing the worst after deadline day.
