She will play the South Tanks in the Blavatnik Building at the London gallery on <strong>September 26<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The singer-songwriter will perform songs from Juniper and will fill the area around the stage with photographs and outfits that have inspired her along the way to creating this record.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DOOXspMgjEl\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>Credit: @joycrookes &amp; @tate, via IG<\/p>\n<p>Themes of \u2018migration, memory, and place\u2019 on Juniper are also partly inspired by <strong>Joy Crookes\u2019 connection to artist Do Ho Suh<\/strong>, who has had an <a href=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/do-ho-suh-exhibition-tate-modern\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/do-ho-suh-exhibition-tate-modern\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_0\" data-category=\"click_internal\">exhibition running at the Tate this summer<\/a>. The Genesis Exhibition by Do Ho Suh runs until <strong>October 26<\/strong>, so you could even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tate.org.uk\/whats-on\/tate-modern\/the-genesis-exhibition-do-ho-suh\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/www.tate.org.uk\/whats-on\/tate-modern\/the-genesis-exhibition-do-ho-suh\" data-action=\"text_cta_1\" data-category=\"click_non_sales\">catch it<\/a> on the same day as Crookes\u2019 performance ahead of seeing the Lates show.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the news, Joy Crookes said: \u201cI feel honoured to be performing at the Tate Modern Late this September. Tate has always been a vital place for me growing up in London \u2013 it has the ability to draw out so many emotions in me, and in all Londoners. The themes of home and identity cross over so much in our creative work and I\u2019m excited to share these with audiences for the first time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do Ho Suh<\/strong> himself will also be appearing as part of the <strong>Tate Modern Lates<\/strong> lineup on the same day, giving a talk on his reflections of his work with Nabila Abdel Nabi, Senior Curator of International Art at the gallery. This will then be followed by a screening of short films by collaborators who worked with Do Ho Suh on his Bridge Project, which includes filmmaker Hugh Brody, and activist Doreen Nutaaq Simmonds.<\/p>\n<p> How to get tickets to see Joy Crookes at Tate Modern Lates <\/p>\n<p>Tickets to the show go on sale just after Juniper\u2018s release on <strong>Monday, September 22 at 11am<\/strong>. If you\u2019re aged 16-25, you can also sign up to Tate Collective to enter the ballot for a set of free tickets.
