The horrifying moment a speeding car heads towards a screaming Betsy Swain on Coronation Street<\/a> next week has been revealed in a shocking first look.<\/p>\n

A preview for Monday’s episode shows the moment teen Betsy is leaving an emotional voicemail message for her mum Lisa Swain, only for disaster to strike. Betsy is seen walking through the carpark near the Precinct when a car comes out of nowhere and heads right for her.<\/p>\n

The car screeches as it speeds along, just as Betsy tells her mum she’s “not going to die”. Her fate is not revealed, with spoilers keeping quiet on what happens, amid a trailer hinting Lisa is set for a shocking discovery.<\/p>\n

Betsy is out on her birthday and is a little tipsy, when she leaves a voice note for possible love interest Dylan Wilson. Betsy clashes with her mum Lisa on her 18th, and she ends up storming out and heading off to celebrate with friends.<\/p>\n

But Betsy is drunk and alone, as she walks around Weatherfield wanting someone to talk to. Dylan doesn’t reply, leaving her upset as she’s alone on her birthday and has fallen out with Lisa.<\/p>\n

Betsy ends up calling her mum, but it immediately goes to voicemail. Betsy apologises for what has happened prior, with the pair set to fall out in scenes in the same episode.<\/p>\n

Apologising for what she said, Betsy explains that while she understands her mother’s concerns and protective behaviour, she wishes her mum would “back off” sometimes.<\/p>\n

As she speaks, she doesn’t hear the car swerving around the corner behind her and keeps walking, and continues with the message. But just as she addresses her mum Becky’s death, she’s faced with the horror events unfolding in front of her.<\/p>\n

Betsy tells her mum: “I know mum died, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna too.” In that exact moment the car squeaks and Betsy realises the danger she is in, spinning round and seeing the dark vehicle.<\/p>\n

She raises her hands in the air and lets out a terrifying scream, fearing for her life. The clip ends there so it’s not known if she is hit and if she will be okay.<\/p>\n

She appears to back against the Precinct park gates with nowhere to go, but is this what leaves Lisa so stunned as shown in the recent trailer? Lisa appears to gasp, crying with a shocked look on her face.<\/p>\n

So has she heard Betsy’s voicemail? Or does something else leave her reeling?<\/p>\n
