Katie Price’s recent storm to the top of the charts is her way of getting the “ultimate revenge”, says a source, after finding herself at the centre of drama over recent months.<\/p>\n

Katie Price unexpectedly shot to the top of the iTunes charts last week.<\/a> And a source tells Mirror<\/a> it feels like a slice of sweet \u201crevenge\u201d, after a turbulent time in which more than one ex has spoken out publicly against her.<\/p>\n

In a surprising turn of events \u2013 almost a decade after releasing any music \u2013 the former glamour model\u2019s 2017 single, I Got U, was pushed to number one after a huge show of support from fans amid her ongoing spat with exes including Alex Reid. And a source claims it has left her feeling \u201con top of the world<\/a> \u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cKatie is delighted \u2013 and it feels like real revenge to everyone after all of the drama that\u2019s been going on recently,\u201d says our source. \u201cShe won\u2019t go quietly where the haters are concerned \u2013 she\u2019s been so hurt and feels like she\u2019s always painted as the bad guy, so this has truly picked her up when she needed it most.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alongside her musical resurgence, Katie is now heading on tour with her close friend Kerry Katona<\/a> \u2013 where she is, no doubt, going to be spilling the beans even more about the recent drama. The tour, An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona,<\/a> will see the long-time pals in a sit-down stage chat about their time in showbiz \u2013 promising \u201cperformances and a Q&A\u201d.<\/p>\n

Legions of fans have stood by Katie with their show of support for her single and buying tickets to the show \u2013 something, claims the source, that\u2019s making a high-pressure situation a little easier to cope with.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not been easy for Katie having to defend herself over and over again when it comes to her exes. She feels like she\u2019s a good mum and has actually held a lot of what has gone on back,\u201d they say. \u201cShe was always going to come out fighting, but it\u2019s nice for her to have some support and something for herself for once \u2013 she appreciates it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her track\u2019s initial release was part of Katie\u2019s plan to make the move from modelling to the music industry, but it failed to make waves \u2013 and her music ambitions faltered.<\/p>\n

She also attempted to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, but lost out to Javine Hylton \u2013 who ended up placing a disappointing 22nd. But now, Katie\u2019s unearthed pop tune has overtaken big artists such as Olivia Dean and Benson Boone in the charts \u2013 with an army of Katie\u2019s fans streaming it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m number one. Thank you all so much for all your support, honestly means the world to me,\u201d said Katie in response to the chart news, adding that her \u201cdreams have come true\u201d.<\/p>\n

The star is mum to Harvey, 23, Junior, 20, Princess, 18, Jett, 12, and Bunny, 11. And it seems music runs in the family \u2013 Junior released his debut single Slide in February 2022, then Only One, in September 2023. He\u2019s also been spending time in the studio and, earlier this year, he teased that \u201cexciting things\u201d were coming.<\/p>\n

Katie\u2019s musical lift has come at a much-needed time for her, after her ex Alex took to social media last month with a scathing attack.<\/a> The cage fighter leaked a video of Katie appearing to count wads of cash amid a bankruptcy battle. As he vowed to \u201creveal the truth\u201d about his \u201cfame-hungry\u201d ex.<\/p>\n

In the video, Katie, who was bankrupted twice over debts totalling more than \u00a33 million, was asked by daughter Princess if she would help pay her school fees, to which Katie responded, \u201cYour dad can sit on that\u201d before lifting a middle finger. Sat next to a Christmas<\/a> tree, she continued, \u201cDoes he go on about it a lot? Well, it\u2019s tough because I\u2019m in bankruptcy to next May now.\u201d<\/p>\n

She has reportedly sought legal advice over Alex\u2019s allegations. However, it seems Katie\u2019s shock chart success and the wave of public support has put a spring in her step. Katie admitted on her podcast that, despite it all, she\u2019s in a \u201cstrong place\u201d and able to handle the controversy now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know my life has always been drama, which I\u2019ve never created, it\u2019s just naturally happened. But I\u2019ve had such good support, I\u2019m so not used to people being nice. With the things that have been going on, back in the day, I wouldn\u2019t have been able to handle it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Behind the scenes, another source of support for Katie is her boyfriend JJ Slater, who our source claims has been her rock throughout the rollercoatser of recent months.<\/p>\n

\u201cJJ is proud of her. He knows that music has always been her dream. But, at the same time, he\u2019s been glued to her hip because it\u2019s been a difficult time, and he worries for her when he\u2019s not there.\u201d<\/p>\n
