The 2025 summer transfer window may be over, but that is unlikely to stop future planning at Liverpool.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was one of the busiest summers of all-time at Anfield, with the Reds twice breaking the British transfer record.<\/p>\n

Despite some serious additions to the Liverpool squad<\/a>, though, there is still room to add even more quality.<\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/a> could do with another centre-back, and it remains to be seen whether they reignite interest in a move for Marc Guehi. The latest reports suggest Liverpool could try and sign Brighton\u2019s Jan Paul van Hecke<\/a> instead, and that is certainly one to keep an eye on.<\/p>\n

Improvements may also be sought in midfield, where the Reds could perhaps do with a clear alternative to Ryan Gravenberch. <\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s Angelo Stiller<\/a> could be a good option in that regard and after the 24-year-old made an interesting admission about Liverpool this week, journalist Fabrizio Romano has explained what is expected to happen with Stiller.<\/p>\n

There have been suggestions that Liverpool considered Stiller after being rejected by Martin Zubimendi<\/a> in 2024. However, with two further transfer windows having been and gone, they have not made a move.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Stiller admitted that he is keen to play abroad<\/a> earlier this week, name-checking Florian Wirtz\u2019s decision to join Liverpool as an inspiration.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m interested in moving abroad at some point,\u201d said the Stuttgart man. \u201cI thought Florian Wirtz\u2019s decision to go to Liverpool was cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

And according to Romano, Stiller is likely to be on the list of plenty of clubs heading into 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Angelo Stiller is going to be a topic for 2026,\u201d the reporter told his YouTube channel on Friday. \u201cThe player was never close to a move this summer. There were reports about Real Madrid in agreement with the player. Not true. Real Madrid considered him internally but they never made a proposal to Stiller or to Stuttgart.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I can say is that Stiller will remain a topic of interest for many clubs in 2026,\u201d Romano adds. \u201cWe heard reports about Manchester United \u2018mission\u2019 to sign him in the final days of the transfer window. Completely fake, no mission.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2026 things might be different. La Liga, Premier League clubs might be interested because the player is open to move abroad from Germany, to try a new experience, from what I\u2019m hearing. He is another name we will mention quite a lot on the channel because some clubs are going to plan some missions to follow him and scout him and see how he will develop.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the fact remains that if Gravenberch or Alexis Mac Allister pick up an unfortunate injury, Liverpool are not brilliantly well equipped to deal with it.<\/p>\n

Signing someone like Stiller would alleviate that problem completely. The Germany international could step in without a big dip in quality if either Gravenberch or Mac Allister are missing.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, though, Stiller\u2019s profile is on the rise. Previous reports suggested that Stuttgart would sell Stiller for around \u00a334m<\/a>, but having since become a starter for his country, and attracted the likes of Real Madrid, that now seems unlikely.<\/p>\n

Liverpool have top midfielders and they should not be spending big money on someone who is not going to play every week.
