{"id":403138,"date":"2025-09-06T17:04:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-06T17:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/403138\/"},"modified":"2025-09-06T17:04:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T17:04:11","slug":"leeds-star-taking-former-club-to-court-first-hearing-in-november-after-papers-filed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/403138\/","title":{"rendered":"Leeds star taking former club to court &#8211; First hearing in November after papers filed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leeds United summer signing Lucas Perri has filed a lawsuit in Brazil\u2019s Labor Court against former club Botafogo.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ge.globo.com\/futebol\/times\/botafogo\/noticia\/2025\/09\/05\/goleiro-lucas-perri-aciona-a-saf-do-botafogo-na-justica-do-trabalho-e-cobra-r28-milhoes.ghtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to Ge Global<\/a>, who report that the Leeds goalkeeper is demanding R$2.8m, around \u20ac400,000 from his former club.<\/p>\n<p>They report that Perri, who played for Botafogo between 2022 to 2023 and was one of the standout players in that period, filed a lawsuit in the 65th Labor Court of Rio de Janeiro last Thursday demanding R$2,834,964.68 from Botafogo for \u2018labour debts\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The first hearing for the case is scheduled for November 5th. The goalkeeper\u2019s lawsuit references image rights, FGTS (Unemployment Fund for Workers\u2019 Severance Fund), and outstanding severance pay.<\/p>\n<p>The player\u2019s defence team have so far refused to comment when contacted and Botafogo\u2019s advisors are also declining to comment at this moment in time.<\/p>\n<p>Perris was one of Botafogo\u2019s standout players during his time at the club and the first to be called up by Brazil in four years when he was selected in 2023.
