Former Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has been slammed by one of his country’s legends for failing to find a new club before the first international break of the season.<\/p>\n
Eriksen<\/a> was signed on a free after an impressive return to football with Brentford. However, the option to extend his contract after the end of last season was not taken up and the former Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> man was released.<\/p>\n While Victor Lindelof<\/a>, who was released at the same time as Eriksen, has now signed for Aston Villa<\/a>, the Dane remains without a club. As he is a free agent, the decision was made not to call him up to the Danish squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n The 33-year-old is currently keeping up his fitness levels with Swedish giants Malmo. However, Eriksen’s decision has been slammed by Denmark icon Thomas Gravesen.<\/p>\n In a recent interview with Fotboll Skanalen<\/a>, Gravesen explained: “It is incomprehensible to me that he chooses Malmo. Where is the ambition to play football?<\/p>\n “We talk about him being without a club for three months, but he has been without a club since January because he has been able to sign a contract with a new club ever since. He has been dragging his feet on it for a long time.<\/p>\n “If he wants to play for the national team, what signal does this send? What signal does going up and having fun with friends in Malmo send?<\/p>\n “I don\u2019t understand it.
