\n\tDespite it happening nearly 20 years ago, everyone is talking about Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales (also known as Kate Middleton<\/a>), splitting up briefly in 2007. Many claim it was a PR stunt<\/a>, while others say it was a turning point in their relationship. However, one royal staff member said he saw the breakup heading in a different direction; in fact, he said he was convinced they wouldn\u2019t get back together, and that Kate would\u2019ve ended up with William\u2019s brother, Prince Harry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tGrant Harrold, who was a butler to King Charles III, is coming out with a new book entitled The Royal Butler,<\/a> and it seems that he spoke about the 2007 breakup<\/a> as well to Us Weekly<\/a>. Turns out, he might\u2019ve shipped Harry and Kate together, saying, \u201cThey got on so well. I remember, when [Prince William] and [Kate] separated \u2014 and I think I said this \u2014 you know, [Prince Harry] and [Kate] got on so well that I even thought that maybe Harry and she would get together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey were that close. They were best friends, and I wouldn\u2019t have put it past Harry thinking, \u2018Well, she\u2019s a pretty girl, My brother didn\u2019t want her. I\u2019ll have her.\u2019 That wouldn\u2019t have surprised me at all. So it could have been Harry and Catherine easily, I would have thought. But, you know, thankfully [William] got her back,\u201d he added. \u201cWhat I\u2019m trying to say is, that is how close they were.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tObviously, that isn\u2019t what happened since Kate and William got back together soon after, and married in 2011. <\/p>\n
