Liverpool icon Mark Lawrenson has named the three positions Arne Slot\u2019s side should bolster in the summer, while also criticising striker Darwin Nunez.<\/p>\n
Liverpool<\/a> fans were unsure what to expect at the start of the season as the club adjusted to Slot following the shock departure of legendary figure Jurgen Klopp last summer. The Reds have adapted brilliantly to Slot\u2019s methods and are on course to win the Premier League title with four games to spare.<\/p>\n They can do this by beating Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Wednesday. The triumph will see Liverpool match Manchester United on 20 English league titles.<\/p>\n Liverpool had also been hoping to win at least one cup competition. And the club is preparing for a busy summer to ensure more success next term.<\/p>\n Lawrenson believes his former club will improve both full-back positions, with Trent Alexander-Arnold nearing a Real Madrid move and Andy Robertson on the decline.<\/p>\n \u201cI think they might sign a left-back and a right-back,\u201d he said on talkSPORT<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the thing about Trent, going once the guy comes in, he\u2019s under pressure isn\u2019t he?<\/p>\n \u201cHe knows that everybody\u2019s kind of looking and thinking, \u2018are you going to be as good as Trent Alexander-Arnold?\u2019 In the times he\u2019s played [Conor Bradley], he\u2019s played very, very well.\u201d<\/p>\n Lawrenson continued: \u201cIt\u2019s different when all of a sudden you know you\u2019re going to play every single game.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I think they\u2019ll sign a right-back, I think they\u2019ll sign a left-back. Left-back probably more urgently than a right-back.\u201d<\/p>\n Attention then turned to Liverpool\u2019s attack, which has been boosted by the news that Mohamed Salah will be staying for two more years.<\/p>\n Unlike Salah, centre-forward Nunez<\/a> is at risk of being axed as he has failed to live up to expectations.<\/p>\n Lawrenson said \u2018they\u2019ll let Nunez go\u2019 before adding:\u00a0\u201cHe\u2019s got so much pace, he stretches opposition defences.<\/p>\n \u201cI just think his head is full of mush. I think they\u2019ll cash in on him and sell him.
