Jean-Luc Melenchon, a leader of the far-left France Unbowed (LFI) party, confirmed the news on Saturday, insisting that Macron\u2019s exit is needed to ensure political stability in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has to go,\u201d Melenchon told a news conference in the northern city of Lille on Saturday. The French Premier, who unveiled a<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstpost.com\/explainers\/explained-frances-political-crisis-ahead-of-crucial-confidence-test-13930569.html\" id=\"https:\/\/www.firstpost.com\/explainers\/explained-frances-political-crisis-ahead-of-crucial-confidence-test-13930569.html\" class=\"body_anchor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2026 budget<\/a> framework in July, is seeking support from the parliament to save nearly \u20ac44 billion ($51 billion) as part of efforts to reduce France\u2019s soaring public debt, now at 113 per cent of its GDP.<\/p>\n<p>What makes the matter more concerning is the fact that France also has one of the EU\u2019s largest budget deficits, which currently stands at 5.8 per cent. While addressing the parliament. Bayrou warned that the country is \u201con the brink of over-indebtedness\u201d and urged lawmakers to choose \u201cresponsibility over chaos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, opposition parties across the spectrum, from the far-left LFI to the far-right<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstpost.com\/world\/le-pens-far-right-french-party-rebuffed-us-offer-of-support-report-13900157.html\" id=\"https:\/\/www.firstpost.com\/world\/le-pens-far-right-french-party-rebuffed-us-offer-of-support-report-13900157.html\" class=\"body_anchor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Rally (RN)<\/a>, as well as the Socialists, have vowed to vote against the government in the Monday voting.
