We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sc-1uza6dc-1 gunhQQ\">Your support makes all the difference.<\/strong>Read more<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/duke-of-sussex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Duke of Sussex<\/a> is set to return to the UK this week for the first time in five months, with plans to support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/bbc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> Children in Need and revisit a community recording studio in Nottingham. <\/p>\n<p>Harry&#8217;s visit will include a series of engagements and a significant donation to the broadcaster\u2019s charity, aimed at bolstering its efforts to combat youth violence.<\/p>\n<p>However, it remains uncertain whether the Duke \u2013 who is estranged from his brother, the Prince of Wales, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/royal-family\/news\/charles-harry-meghan-markle-relationship-b2553626.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has a strained relationship with his father, the King<\/a> \u2013 will arrange a family reunion during his stay.<\/p>\n<p>The King, currently at Balmoral in Aberdeenshire, and the Queen have no public engagements scheduled for the coming week.<\/p>\n<p>Harry and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/charles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charles<\/a> last met face-to-face over 18 months ago, in February 2024, when the Duke, who is no longer a working royal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/prince-harry-king-charles-cancer-william-b2491870.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travelled across the Atlantic following news of his father&#8217;s cancer diagnosis<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Their meeting lasted just over 30 minutes before the King departed to recuperate in Sandringham.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SEI203210432.jpg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Prince Harry will revisit a community recording studio in Nottingham\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE inline-gallery-btn\"\/><\/p>\n<p>open image in gallery<\/p>\n<p>Prince Harry will revisit a community recording studio in Nottingham (AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>The duke will be in London on Monday \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/prince-harry-uk-queen-elizabeth-b2815679.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the third anniversary of the late Queen\u2019s death<\/a> \u2013 for the annual WellChild Awards, a cause close to his heart as the charity\u2019s long-standing patron, before travelling to Nottingham on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Harry last visited the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in the city\u2019s St Ann\u2019s area to mark World Mental Health Day in October 2019, just two months before he and the Duchess of Sussex announced they were stepping down as senior working royals and moving to North America.<\/p>\n<p>He is planning to hold a private briefing with Children in Need, the Police and Crime Commission, the CRS and community outreach group Epic Partners in Nottingham, stage informal catch-ups with some of the young people he met before, and watch performances from CRS artists and make a short speech.<\/p>\n<p>The duke appears to be focusing on his philanthropic ventures, while the Duchess of Sussex, who is not expected to join him on the trip to the UK, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/meghan-markle-as-ever-products-jams-honey-b2758963.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">working on her lifestyle brand As Ever<\/a> and promoting the recent launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/tv\/reviews\/with-love-meghan-season-2-review-netflix-ratings-b2816307.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the second season of her critically savaged Netflix show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/img\/logo-white-out.svg\" alt=\"Video Player Placeholder\" class=\"sc-1b6sh7s-3 jhJxRW\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The duke is hoping to bring together key stakeholders, influencers and potential funders to shine a light on the work of grassroots organisations such as CRS and Epic Partners and the sports apprenticeship body Coach Core.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Core was originally started as a programme by William, Harry and the now-Princess of Wales\u2019s joint Royal Foundation in 2012 to use the power of sport to help change lives and train young apprentices.<\/p>\n<p>It has since become an independent charity.
