Terence Crawford<\/a> is a prolific switch-hitter.<\/p>\n

But if you ask him, no one has done it better, effortlessly switching back and forth from southpaw to orthodox during a fight.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s ultimately a code undisputed super middleweight crown-holder Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) will have to crack when he takes on Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) on Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that I am the best switch-hitter ever,\u201d Crawford said on Netflix’s two-part countdown program documenting the buildup to the fight. \u201cThere isn’t a fighter that I can think of that can do it so naturally and can fight at a peak level, whether being an orthodox or southpaw.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there a fighter in the world that can beat Bud Crawford? I ain\u2019t come across him yet. Everything happens for a reason. And I truly and firmly believe that I am in this position to become a three-time undisputed champion of the world. History will be made \u2026 I think a lot of people will be surprised on fight night.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Crawford\u2019s career-best win and three-knockdown performance against Errol Spence Jr.<\/a> in July 2023, he claimed he made the call to fight as a lefty minutes before in the dressing room. He labeled the decision as his key to victory.
Crawford is remaining coy when it comes to sharing the tactics he has planned for Alvarez<\/a>, but he\u2019s carefully posting curated photos of his transformed physique, which featured eight-pack abs eight days before the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think what separates me from everyone else is my mentality, my work ethic, my risk-taking,\u201d said Crawford. \u201cI’m still sharpening my tools, but at the same time I am learning on the job. \u2026 I don\u2019t ever want to feel like I am done learning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen people talk about Terence Crawford, they don\u2019t talk about how I overcame all of the odds. I had to go through so much to get to where I am now. I wouldn\u2019t want it any other way. They doubted me. They didn\u2019t give me a chance. They thought that I was going to be a statistic. I overcame so many obstacles and life lessons that they can\u2019t do anything but respect it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The undersized Crawford will be a betting underdog for the first time in his Hall-of-Fame career. But such is the case against a fellow generational great because he\u2019s climbing up two weight classes after just one fight at 154 pounds last year, following a five-year run at 147 pounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn’t matter how I got to the table. I got to the table and we are going to make history,\u201d Crawford said. \u201cI want to be remembered as one of the all-time greats. I have to go through Canelo to do it. A win would put me on Mount Rushmore. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think I already established myself as one of the all-time greats. God doesn\u2019t make mistakes. There is a reason why I am here. It\u2019s all part of his plan.\u201d<\/p>\n
