{"id":404466,"date":"2025-09-07T05:24:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-07T05:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/404466\/"},"modified":"2025-09-07T05:24:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T05:24:11","slug":"russian-attacks-on-ukraines-kyiv-kill-at-least-3-strike-govt-building-russia-ukraine-war-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/404466\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian attacks on Ukraine\u2019s Kyiv kill at least 3, strike gov\u2019t building | Russia-Ukraine war News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__subhead\">Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko says attack early on Sunday sparked fires at several high-rise buildings in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Published On 7 Sep 20257 Sep 2025<\/p>\n<p class=\"tr-story-p1\">At least three people have been killed, 18 wounded, and dozens of buildings\u00a0set on fire in Kyiv, including the seat of the government, following a Russian drone and missile attack in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/5\/what-guarantees-has-macrons-coalition-of-the-willing-promised-ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ukraine<\/a>\u2018s capital, according to officials and local news reports.<\/p>\n<p>Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko was initially quoted by Reuters news agency as saying that the attack early on Sunday killed an infant and a young woman, and sparked fires at several high-rise apartment buildings in the city\u2019s west and east.<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Stories list of 3 itemsend of list<\/p>\n<p>Medics were called to the leafy Darnytskyi district to the east of the Dnipro River, where a four-storey apartment building caught fire from the debris of drones destroyed in the overnight attack, Klitschko added.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian news website Kyiv Independent also reported that an elderly woman also died in a shelter in the city\u2019s Darnytskyi district following the attack, although the cause of of her death was not immediately clear.<\/p>\n<p>The State Emergency Service confirmed at least one fatality in Kyiv and at least 18 injured.<\/p>\n<p>Reuters agency also quoted witnesses and the Ukrainian military as saying that a fire has broken out at an administrative building in Kyiv\u2019s Pecherskyi district following the drone attack, which also knocked out power in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Russian attacks on Ukraine have increased in recent days even as US President Donald Trump stepped up diplomacy to end the three-and-a-half-year war, although those efforts have not yet been successful.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Klitschko posted on the Telegram messaging app that a pregnant woman and two other injured people had been hospitalised.<\/p>\n<p>Drone debris also caused fires atop a 16-storey and two nine-storey buildings in the Sviatoshynskyi district in Kyiv\u2019s west, he said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-arc-image-770 wp-image-3930187\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/2025-09-07T034403Z_1298106058_RC2RMGA0QW9K_RTRMADP_3_UKRAINE-CRISIS-ATTACK-KYIV-1-1757217691.jpg\" alt=\"A police officer stands near the site of an apartment building damaged during a Russian drone strike, amid Russia\u2019s attack on Ukraine, in Kyiv, Ukraine September 7, 2025.
