Rangers were joined by Championship outfits Sheffield United and Coventry City in their deadline day efforts to sign Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a><\/strong>, senior correspondent Pete O\u2019Rourke<\/a> revealed what sources have told him about the 22-year-old\u2019s future after he ultimately remained at Crystal Palace<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Russell Martin\u2019s side remain keen on Rak-Sakyi and could look to reignite their interest in the January transfer window, but will not be alone in their pursuit.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 5 September that Crystal Palace will entertain offers for Rak-Sakyi<\/a> in the mid-season window despite turning down summer bids.<\/p>\n

The Eagles\u2019 academy graduate is not believed to be a major part of Oliver Glasner\u2019s plans, and has been keen to move on in search of regular playing time.<\/p>\n

This comes after Football Insider<\/strong> exclusively revealed on deadline day that Sheffield United wanted to sign Rak-Sakyi<\/a> following last season\u2019s loan spell.<\/p>\n

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> on 2 September that Rangers will make a fresh move for Rak-Sakyi in January<\/a><\/p>\n

Marin remains determined to land the winger having also attempted to sign him at both Swansea and Southampton as he is a huge admirer of his talents.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Rourke explained that Gers will face Championship competition for the winger, with Sheffield United and Coventry both holding ambitions of promotion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a lot of interest in Rak-Sakyi on deadline day,,\u201d he told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t just Rangers looking at him, Sheffield United, Coventry and Swansea all made moves to sign him as well but couldn\u2019t reach an agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be interesting to see how much game time he gets for Crystal Palace this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen they\u2019ll make a decision about whether he could move on in January, with all of those interested clubs likely to hold on to their interest.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he\u2019s not figuring in Oliver Glasner\u2019s plans between now and January, I\u2019m sure they will be looking at that situation with Rak-Sakyi.<\/p>\n

\u201cRangers will be among them because we know Russell Martin is a huge fan of his. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo if he\u2019s not playing before January, these clubs will look to bring him in in the winter window.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite ongoing rumblings about transfer activity at Ibrox, there is also focus on Martin\u2019s position, with pressure continuing to rise behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong> exclusively revealed on 4 September that Rangers are preparing to sack Martin<\/a> after a cabal of club legends made clear he is not the man for the job.<\/p>\n

The boss has overseen four draws from four league games so far, while his side were dumped out of the Champions League following a 9-1 aggregate defeat to Club Brugge.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 30 August that Rangers could have no choice but to sack Martin<\/a> if fans carry out threats to stop attending games should he remain in charge.<\/p>\n
