Daniel Farke still wants Leeds United to sign two new attackers in January after their transfer failings this summer, sources have told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking on the latest edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/strong><\/a>, senior correspondent\u00a0Pete O\u2019Rourke<\/a>\u00a0revealed what his sources have told him about Leeds\u2019 preparedness for the season ahead.<\/p>\n Leeds<\/a> tried and failed with a deadline day move for Fulham\u2019s Harry Wilson<\/a> and also explored a move to bring last season\u2019s loanee Manor Solomon<\/a> back to Elland Road, but ended the window empty-handed.<\/p>\n Football Insider <\/strong>revealed on Saturday that European football was a deciding factor for Solomon<\/a> as he joined Champions League-bound Villarreal<\/a> instead of Leeds, leaving Farke<\/a> short of options in attack.<\/p>\n Farke\u2019s frustrations were compounded by Solomon and Wilson\u2019s failed moves<\/a>, and sources have told Football Insider<\/strong> that Leeds will look to add attacking reinforcements once the January window opens.<\/p>\n Leeds have been described as \u201cgoing into a gunfight with a water pistol\u201d, but Football Insider<\/strong> sources have said that a new-look defence, midfield, and goalkeeper in Lucas Perri<\/a> leaves Farke well-stocked across the squad as a whole.<\/p>\n Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 24 August that Farke still wanted to bring in four new players<\/a> before the window closed, but full-back James Justin<\/a> was the only addition in a frustrating end to the summer.<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Speaking on the new Inside Track podcast<\/strong><\/a>, O\u2019Rourke stated that two of the four positions highlighted by Farke could be addressed as soon as January, to give Leeds the tools they need to survive a \u201cgunfight\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cLeeds would ideally have liked to add another forward and an attacking midfielder to bolster their goalscoring options\u201d, he told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cSomebody\u2019s described it to me as Daniel Farke \u2018going into a gunfight with a water pistol\u2019 \u2013\u00a0maybe that\u2019s a bit over the top.<\/p>\n \u201cThe midfield looks strong; the defence is good as well, and the new goalkeeper in Lucas Perri, so it\u2019s been some good business.<\/p>\n \u201cLeeds feel that they\u2019re a bit light in the final third, and will be hoping that if they\u2019re still in contention to stay up by January, maybe they can add to the squad then.\u201d<\/p>\n Farke allowed two of Leeds\u2019 attackers to leave for nothing in the final days of the window in the hope that new additions would arrive to replace them, yet 49ers Enterprises<\/a> didn\u2019t hold up their side of the bargain.<\/p>\n Patrick Bamford is still exploring the free agency market<\/a> after his release and Largie Ramazani made an instant impact at Valencia, as Leeds in turn missed out on Solomon, Wilson and Facundo Buonanotte<\/a>.<\/p>\n![\"Harry](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Harry-Wilson-1024x576.jpg\")
