We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sc-1uza6dc-1 gunhQQ\">Your support makes all the difference.<\/strong>Read more<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of a rare visit to Britain, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/prince-harry-uk-visit-charles-william-b2821523.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a> is believed to be aiming to reset his relationship not-only with key <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/royal-family\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal family<\/a> members, but with the government in the UK, in a bid to find future security agreements for his wife and children while visiting his home country.<\/p>\n<p>The prince is this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/prince-harry-uk-visit-charles-william-b2821523.html\" title=\"Prince Harry returns to UK \u2013 but it\u2019s unclear if he\u2019ll meet Charles and William\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">undertaking a four-day solo stay<\/a> in Britain \u2013 the longest since he returned for the funeral of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2022. <\/p>\n<p>According to reports quoting friends of the prince, he is reportedly increasingly keen to make more frequent visits to Britain, and also bring his family with him. <\/p>\n<p>They <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/uk\/royal-family\/article\/prince-harry-britain-visit-8q8qftds2\">told The Sunday Times<\/a> he wants to \u201cbring his family back to the UK\u201d and be able to show his children \u201cwhere he grew up\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe&#8217;s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK.\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In May, Harry said he \u201cmisses the UK\u201d but that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/voices\/harry-meghan-sussex-security-b2503976.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">since losing his legal case<\/a> with the Home Office over his level of security, was not planning on returning with his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can&#8217;t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point,\u201d he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c8074n5z597o\">told the BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the things they&#8217;re going to miss, well, everything \u2026 I miss the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FILES-BRITAIN-ROYALS-HARRY-SECURITY-FAMILY-fsck3h4v.jpeg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Britain's Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex (R), and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, pose for a photo with their newborn baby son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle in Windsor, west of London on May 8, 2019\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE\"\/>Britain&#8217;s Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex (R), and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, pose for a photo with their newborn baby son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in St George&#8217;s Hall at Windsor Castle in Windsor, west of London on May 8, 2019 (POOL\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Despite losing the security case, The Times suggests the prince may now undertake a different approach: \u201cthose close to the prince say the government should expect private \u2018lobbying\u2019 from the prince on the matter to continue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As well as security concerns, the Sussexes\u2019 relationship with various key members of the Royal family is an obstacle to rebuilding bridges with Britain. <\/p>\n<p>The King, who is at Balmoral and still receiving regular cancer treatment, \u201cmisses his son\u201d according to an interview with his former personal butler, Grant Harrold, in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/02\/entertainment\/king-charles-faces-pushback-over-harry-peace-talks-as-prince-william-calls-it-a-terrible-idea-report\/\">The New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/prince-harry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c8074n5z597o\">told the BBC<\/a> in May that the King \u201cwon\u2019t speak to me because of this security stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cOf course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive lots of things. But I would love a reconciliation with my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prince Harry has not met with his father, the King, since February 2024, when he returned for a 30-minute meeting following the monarch\u2019s cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>Another potential obstacle the prince faces may be his own brother.
