According to the doctor, this could be the perfect way to start your day.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-linkchecker-status=\"valid\"><a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/life-style\/life\/2042585\/boiling-kettle-mistake-perfect-tea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Consuming warm water<\/a> &#8211; on its own &#8211; could provide multiple health benefits. These include improving your digestion and supporting weight loss.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on social media platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/tiktok\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok<\/a>, Doctor Kunal Sood, explained that the drink should be consumed as soon as you wake up. He shared three benefits to drinking warm water before you do anything else.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThere are three reasons you should start drinking more water on an empty stomach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr Sood told his more than two million followers that drinking warm water can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improve digestion<\/li>\n<li>Help you lose weight<\/li>\n<li>Improve blood flow and circulation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cNumber one, it will improve your digestion,\u201d he said. \u201cThe theory is warm water will help you dissolve foods that you normally have a hard time digesting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s also research that warm water can help constipation.\u201d He referred to a scientific study, published in <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/27684632\/#:~:text=It%20was%20determined%20that%20warm,favorable%20impact%20on%20intestinal%20movements.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gastroenterology Nursing journal<\/a> in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This research found that drinking water with a temperature of 37C had a \u201cfavourable impact on intestinal movements\u201d. Dr Sood then explained how warm water could aid weight loss efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWarm water can temporarily boost your body&#8217;s metabolism,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is because your body will work to bring the warm water in your body temperature, this slight increase in metabolic rate in aid when you&#8217;re trying to burn calories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/?view=Solus&amp;mailingListId=f67f8c45-7322-495e-9ca1-e9a87ae99175&amp;utm_source=solusarticle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Find out about the symptoms you need to watch out for and get health advice with our free health newsletter from the Daily Express<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cAnd lastly, it will improve circulation and blood flow.
