Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) kicked to an overdue stage win Sunday that was anything but easy after a big breakaway pulled clear in hilly terrain across Spain\u2019s Galicia region in stage 15 at the Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n
Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers) crashed on the final corner and could not contest the reduced bunch sprint. The American finished eighth.<\/p>\n
The main bunch rolled in more than 13 minutes back.<\/p>\n
A few riders in the break moved up on GC, including Junior Lecerf (Soudal Quick-Step), who bounced from 13th to ninth.<\/p>\n
Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) and Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) also nudged back into the top 15 after gaining back time in the break, pushing Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease a Bike) out of the top 10.<\/p>\n
No riders abandoned, and none of the major jerseys changed hands.<\/p>\n
There were also no major shakeups in the overall classification, and Jonas Vingegaard carried a 48-second lead into Monday\u2019s rest day and the final decisive week of the 2025 Vuelta.<\/p>\n
The stage also saw two riders crash in the chasing group with about 55km when a protester appeared to be trying to hold up a banner and slipped into the oncoming riders. Two crashed but were able to continue.<\/p>\n
