Leeds United Women were held to a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon in the FA WNL Cup against Norton & Stockton Ancients, following goals from Alice Hughes and Abbie Graham.<\/p>\n
The Whites got off to a flying start, with Hughes scoring the opener just two minutes in, before Graham put Leeds ahead again following an equaliser for the hosts, but it was Norton who again scored to level the tie in the 90th minute,<\/p>\n
Following the result, Whites boss Simon Wood said: \u201cThere will be lots we can build on in the week for the next league game, we have the bits we did well today, I thought we looked really good at times, but we weren\u2019t where we wanted to be and where we need to be.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom scoring that early on in the game, we want to build on that and score more goals, but as the game went on it became a little bit scrappy. We didn\u2019t create enough opportunities in the 90 minutes to win the game, so that\u2019s something we will build on for next week.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to learn from these situations, it\u2019s a cup competition but when it comes to league games, that\u2019s a lesson that we have got to learn, it\u2019s a lesson we will take forward.”<\/p>\n
On the league fixture against Wythenshawe next week: \u201cIt\u2019s another tough one, like today, we know more about them than we did at the start of the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ll be up for it, they\u2019ll want to make a mark against Leeds United like most teams do, but we\u2019ve got to make sure we\u2019re up for the challenge.<\/p>\n
