Ruben Amorim has been reassured that his job isn’t on the line. After the international break, Manchester United<\/a> must take on Manchester City<\/a> at the Etihad Stadium<\/a> before hosting Chelsea<\/a> at Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amorim will be hoping his side can climb the table after a shaky start to the new Premier League<\/a> season. United may have lost to Arsenal on the opening weekend, but they showed great promise<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the Reds, it didn’t count for much when they surrendered a one-goal lead to Fulham. A few days later, Grimsby Town dumped United out of the Carabao Cup second round<\/a>, winning 12-11 on penalties.<\/p>\n

Burnley almost piled on the misery, but Bruno Fernandes stepped up in stoppage time<\/a> and fired the Reds to their first win of the campaign. The 30-year-old midfielder beat Martin Dubravka from 12 yards and took some weight off his boss’ shoulders.<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle for the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.<\/p>\n

Despite defeating the newly-promoted outfit, Amorim still faces a somewhat uncertain future at United. Speaking to Football Insider<\/a>, Mick Brown, who previously worked alongside Sir Alex Ferguson<\/a> at the Reds as chief scout, claimed the result wouldn’t have changed the mood in the boardroom.<\/p>\n

“A win is a win, at the end of the day,” said Brown. “But I don\u2019t think anybody will take confidence in the manager from a 3-2 win when you\u2019ve dominated the game and end up relying on a penalty in the last minute.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s not the type of result which makes you think they\u2019ll be able to build on it. That is what he needs to do; he needs to put a string of results together and maintain their form.”<\/p>\n

“They need to continue winning games, that\u2019s how you ease the pressure,” added the former United official. Amorim may be under pressure to turn things around, but Brown doesn’t believe the Portuguese head coach will be sacked if he loses to City and Chelsea.<\/p>\n

The Reds will face Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, September 14, before hosting the Club World Cup champions at Old Trafford on Saturday, September 20. United are currently ninth in the Premier League after three games.<\/p>\n

“After the international break, it\u2019s Man City and then they\u2019ve got Chelsea after that, so it won\u2019t get easier,” Brown said. “It\u2019s very easy to start the season and before you know where you are, you\u2019ve lost three or four games and all of a sudden you\u2019re tumbling down the table.<\/p>\n

“At the moment, he\u2019s just papering over the cracks, but a win against Burnley isn\u2019t enough to convince people you\u2019ve turned a corner. Those Man City and Chelsea games are going to be big for him.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t necessarily think they\u2019ll sack him even if he loses those games, because at this point it\u2019s to be expected, but more questions will be asked.”<\/p>\n
