Donald Trump will be in the UK later this month for a state visit<\/a>, and according to ITV\u2019s Robert Peston, the US President \u201cjust wants to have fun” during the official visit<\/a>, which appears to be the case with Trump inviting a friend to his welcome dinner.<\/p>\n

Invitations to the dinner are sent out two months in advance by the Royal Household<\/a> with Trump making a last-minute addition to the guest list.<\/p>\n

The US Presiden<\/a>t has reportedly invited former British ambassador to the US, Dame Karen Pierce, to attend the forthcoming state banquet, scheduled to take place on September 17, which will be co-hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.<\/a><\/p>\n

Charles has expressed concern over Trump speaking out of turn when he\u2019s in the UK later this month with Royal News\u2019 Brittani Barger saying he has \u201cgood reason\u201d to feel that way.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to Mirror US, Barger said: \u201cIf King Charles is concerned President Trump will speak out of turn, he has good reason to think that.\u201d<\/p>\n

She explained: \u201cPresident Trump does not hide his feelings or opinions, no matter who is around. And that is one reason so many people love him, but so many also dislike him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barger wasn\u2019t surprised to learn Trump was invited for a second state visit, which she explained.<\/p>\n

The state banquet is expected to be attended by 150 guests<\/p>\n

The royal expert said: \u201cTrump is known to have a fondness for the Royal Family so it came as no surprise that he immediately accepted the invitation.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI think the state visit will be good for both countries. Trump is shaking things up, so I think this was an olive branch of sorts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now 151 guests with Trump’s addition<\/p>\n

In terms of Pierce, she has yet to accept or decline the invite, but the current British Ambassador to the US, Lord Peter Mandelson, will be in attendance and he and Trump haven\u2019t always seen eye-to-eye.<\/p>\n

In the past, Mandelson referred to Trump as \u201ca danger to the world\u201d but has since changed his tune.<\/p>\n

In January, Mandelson said: \u201cI think that he has won fresh respect. He certainly has from me, and that is going to be the basis of all the work I do as his majesty\u2019s ambassador in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n
