{"id":406500,"date":"2025-09-08T00:18:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T00:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/406500\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T00:18:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T00:18:08","slug":"roya-news-jordan-telecom-authority-issues-statement-on-internet-service-slowdown-due-to-red-sea-cable-cut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/406500\/","title":{"rendered":"Roya News | Jordan telecom authority issues statement on internet service slowdown due to Red Sea cable cut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jordan\u2019s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) today announced disruptions to undersea internet cables in the Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p>The TRC said that international bodies have confirmed these disruptions, which have resulted in slower speeds and increased response times in a number of countries in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The TRC confirmed that while no nationwide internet outage has been recorded in Jordan, users may experience some delays when accessing international content.<\/p>\n<p>The authority is working with licensed operators to improve routing paths, increase local exchange, and rely on terrestrial and other Mediterranean submarine cable alternatives to mitigate the impact.<\/p>\n<p>The TRC will continue to monitor quality indicators and provide updates to the public as needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Complicated Repairs and Jordan\u2019s Connectivity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The TRC stated that repairing submarine cables is a complex process that could take weeks, depending on the availability of ships and conditions in the Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan&#8217;s internet infrastructure benefits from a diversity of international routes, including submarine cables connected to Aqaba that link to Mediterranean infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan also relies on terrestrial routes through Saudi Arabia to the Gulf.
