{"id":406796,"date":"2025-09-08T03:08:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T03:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/406796\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T03:08:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T03:08:16","slug":"lincolnshire-police-proud-as-punch-to-escort-landmark-on-freedoms-wings-lancaster-bomber-sculpture-to-norton-disney-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/406796\/","title":{"rendered":"Lincolnshire Police \u2018proud as punch\u2019 to escort landmark On Freedom\u2019s Wings Lancaster Bomber sculpture to Norton Disney site"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Drone footage captured by Lincolnshire Police has offered an aerial view of a landmark sculpture\u2019s journey from workshop to site.<\/p>\n<p>Two wings of the On Freedom\u2019s Wings Lancaster Bomber sculpture were today (September 6) escorted from Timmins Engineering and Construction Ltd workshop, at Caenby Corner in Market Rasen, to its final destination in Norton Disney.<\/p>\n<p>Each are 14.5m in length, 5.96m in width, 4.8m in height, with a total weight of 48 tonnes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The On Freedom\u2019s Wings project will see a full-scale sculpture of a Lancaster Bomber erected on the border of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire to mark the historic link that the counties shared with RAF Bomber Command during the Second World War.<\/p>\n<p>Lincolnshire Police escorted lorries carrying the two wings along the A15 and on to the A46 \u2014 and in a Facebook post the force stated it was \u2018proud as punch\u2019 to play its part.<\/p>\n<p>Footage of the abnormal loads was captured from the skies by the force\u2019s chief drone pilot as the lorries travelled around a roundabout at the Lincolnshire Showground, on the A15, near Lincoln.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 1727 908\" alt=\"The sculptural Lancaster Bomber wings travelling on the A15.
