Tributes have been paid to an \u201cextraordinary\u201d Scots dad who died following an incident in Somerset.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Colin Lawson, from Edinburgh, died at an address in South Petherton on August 22.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old has been remembered as a \u201ckind, considerate and loving\u201d dad and stepdad, who was \u201cproudly Scottish\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a statement released through Avon and Somerset Police, Mr Lawson\u2019s partner, Josephine, said his death has left an \u201cimmeasurable void\u201d in their family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe heart and soul of our family is gone, and the silence left in Colin\u2019s absence is deafening,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was an extraordinary man; kind, considerate, loving, funny, intelligent, and wise. To know Colin was to know warmth, generosity, and a spirit that lifted everyone around him.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that Mr Lawson was \u201cproudly Scottish\u201d and \u201ccarried his heritage with joy and pride\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis knowledge was vast, his humour infectious, and his compassion boundless. He gave freely of himself, his time, his help, his love, never asking for anything in return.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the challenges of his failing eyesight, Colin never let it dim his passion for life. He continued to do the things he loved, showing us all what resilience truly looks like,\u201d Josephine said.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cFather to Josh and Connor, a caring stepfather to Dominic, Tyler, and Ruby, and a proud step-grandfather to Hayley.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTo me, Colin was my light, my love, my best friend, and my everything. Together, we built a beautiful life between Edinburgh and Somerset, a life full of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gap he leaves behind is immeasurable. Our lives were richer, fuller, and brighter because of him. Whether you knew Colin for five minutes or a lifetime, he left a mark that will never fade.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will carry him with us always, in our hearts, in our stories, and in the love, he gave so freely. He will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Graham Janes, of Chard, has been charged in connection with Mr Lawson\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n

The 49-year-old is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday, September 17, for a pre-trial and plea hearing.<\/p>\n
