{"id":407916,"date":"2025-09-08T13:36:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T13:36:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/407916\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T13:36:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T13:36:17","slug":"celtic-told-of-what-could-be-in-daizen-maedas-contract-after-summer-exit-blocked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/407916\/","title":{"rendered":"Celtic told of what could be in Daizen Maeda&#8217;s contract after summer exit blocked"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Thankfully, Celtic didn\u2019t allow Daizen Maeda to leave in the summer.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/transfers\/celtic-summer-2025-transfers-signings-exits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025 summer transfer window<\/a> was bad enough, but it would have taken the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/club\/club-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Celtic<\/a> fans well over the edge had they parted ways with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/daizen-maeda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maeda<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since the dust is starting to settle on the summer window, the Japanese international has openly spoken about how he could have left, but Celtic didn\u2019t allow him to.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This shouldn\u2019t be a surprise because, as soon as any player, Matt O\u2019Riley, Virgil van Dijk, Jeremie Frimpong, and Nicolas Kuhn, to name a few, showcases any outstanding form, then the money rolls in and Celtic accepts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Whilst <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/opinion\/the-three-biggest-risks-that-celtic-took-during-the-2025-summer-transfer-window\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it didn\u2019t happen with Maeda<\/a>, it was questioned on PLZ Soccer whether there is something in the contracts of these players.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2224722045-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Daizen Maeda of Celtic FC is in action during the Pre-Season Friendly match between Sporting de Lisboa and Celtic FC at Estadio Algarve\" class=\"wp-image-313836\" \/>Photo by Jose Luis Contreras\/Dax Images\/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesDaizen Maeda\u2019s Celtic contract<\/p>\n<p>When discussing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/daizen-maeda-celtic-exit-agreement-clause-floated-as-brendan-rodgers-told-one-thing-is-crucial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maeda\u2019s recent admission<\/a>, former goalkeeper Alan Rough couldn\u2019t get his head around how the player seemingly \u2018agreed personal terms\u2019 with another club if Celtic didn\u2019t want to sell him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/tam-mcmanus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tam McManus<\/a> suggested that there could be clauses in the contracts of players from Japan and Korea that, if an English Premier League side comes knocking, then they can leave because that\u2019s where the money is, and it\u2019s their \u2018ultimate aim.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alan Rough: \u201cI just find it really strange for him negotiating with another club, without the club he is at.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>McManus: \u201cI am sure the players coming from Japan and Korea have got something in their contract, \u2018if an English Premier League club comes in.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is a stepping stone. Albeit Celtic are a bigger club than Brentford.
