Leeds United signed 10 players this summer, including two new strikers for Daniel Farke\u2019s forward line in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Noah Okafor can also be utilised as a striker, albeit is predominantly more of a wide forward. Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph also left Leeds United<\/a>, leaving Joel Piroe and Harry Gray from last season\u2019s ranks.<\/p>\n

However, Calvert-Lewin may well be the marquee striker signing for Leeds, but that doesn\u2019t mean there weren\u2019t other options considered by the Whites over the course of the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

Centre-forward is a crucial position to get right in the short and long-term, but Calvert-Lewin came in due to assurances over his game time under Farke next term. Leeds United News\u2019<\/strong> latest information is that they retain interest in another player for future windows.<\/p>\n

Everton\u2019s Beto and Norwich\u2019s Sargent were looked at<\/a> prior to Calvert-Lewin joining later on instead of Sargent<\/a>. The Norwich centre-forward made the final four-man shortlist for Leeds.<\/p>\n

Prior to that, it was reported that the Whites target was nearing a move to the Bundesliga again, as\u00a0Sargent looked like heading to VfL Wolfsburg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Sargent rejected the move from Norwich to the Bundesliga<\/a> and that left many Leeds fans thinking Sargent\u2019s \u00a321 million bid was \u2018insane\u2019<\/a>\u00a0in the context of overpaying for a player who has hardly proven his worth at the elite level.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Leeds United News<\/strong> previously, transfer expert\u00a0Graeme Bailey explained how Sargent is a much better player<\/a>\u00a0right now than he was before.<\/p>\n

Speaking to LUN<\/strong> exclusively<\/a> again, Bailey explained the latest on what he\u2019s hearing, having reacted to Leeds window in attack. He said: \u201cLeeds should have just done Sargent and [Emi] Buendia. To be honest, they still might, if Farke is still around!<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was crazy he stayed in the end. He is very good. He has honestly improved so much in terms of hold up play.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven with Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin now there, he is perfect for Leeds longer-term. One to keep an eye on in future windows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh Windass believes Sargent is better than Joel Piroe<\/a>. It\u2019s evident why teams at the bottom-end of the league are looking at him following his development with Norwich in recent seasons.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, it was reported by Alan Nixon<\/a> that Norwich were \u201cshocked\u201d at one of Burnley\u2019s bids for the striker over the summer. That was due to how low the offer was.<\/p>\n

Their offer, he reports, was a guaranteed \u00a31.5 million with complicated extras that barely took it to \u00a310 million in total. Norwich were asking for closer to \u00a320 million, which was what Wolfsburg were roughly bidding.<\/p>\n
