Manchester United return to Premier League action this week as they get ready to meet their cross-city rivals in the Manchester derby.<\/p>\n
Ruben Amorim<\/a>‘s squad will make the short trip to the Etihad Stadium<\/a> to take on Pep Guardiola<\/a>‘s Manchester City<\/a>. United go into the contest on the back of a dramatic 3-2 victory over Burnley last month, before the season’s first international break.<\/p>\n Amorim is also being forced to deal with several injury concerns in the early weeks of the new Premier League<\/a> season. It remains to be seen how many players, if any, will be on the side-lines when they face City on Sunday.<\/p>\n Here, we round up their latest fitness concerns;<\/p>\n Matheus Cunha<\/strong><\/p>\n Matheus Cunha suffered a hamstring injury during United’s win over Burnley at Old Trafford<\/a> before the international break.<\/p>\n It’s still unclear the severity of the injury, with Cunha withdrawing from the Brazil squad for the World Cup qualifiers this month as a result.<\/p>\n Cunha has since provided hints on social media that a recovery from the injury may not take as long as first feared.<\/p>\n “What an incredible environment, it\u2019s great to be here,” Cunha wrote on Instagram last week.<\/p>\n “I’ll be back soon, always with joy and gratitude. Thanks for all the messages.”<\/p>\n Potential return date: <\/strong>September 14 vs Man City (A)<\/p>\n Mason Mount<\/strong><\/p>\n Mason Mount also suffered an injury during United’s win over Burnley last month at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n Amorim confirmed after the game that Mount played for 30 minutes of the contest with the injury before being substituted.<\/p>\n “It was hard to lose a player like Cunha and Mason Mount – Mount played like 30 minutes with an injury,” said the head coach after the win over the Clarets on August 30.<\/p>\n “I don’t know [if they are long-term injuries], I don’t know, but I’m concerned about that.<\/p>\n “They are so important for us, so we’ll see.”<\/p>\n Potential return date: <\/strong>September 14 vs Man City (A)<\/p>\n Lisandro Martinez<\/strong><\/p>\n Lisandro Martinez has been recovering from an ACL injury that he suffered last season, having undergone surgery on the injury back in February.<\/p>\n Since then, the Argentina international has been stepping up his recovery and has returned to training.
