We are asking passengers not to travel to Terminal 4 and supporting those on site. All other terminals are operating as normal,\u201d a Heathrow spokesperson said in a statement.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmfbg9uq6000m3b6n8pw3gd2l@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Terminal 4 is home to check-in counters for AirFrance, Bulgaria Air, China Southern, Etihad Airways, Korean Air, Qatar Airways, and Vueling and WestJet, among others.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmfbfx5d900003b6n8nxmwi9v@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said in a statement that firefighters are responding to a \u201cpossible hazardous materials incident\u201d at Heathrow.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmfbg7e8k000i3b6nwl4uh9ht@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cSpecialist crews have been deployed to carry out an assessment of the scene, and Terminal 4 check in has been evacuated as a precaution whilst firefighters respond,\u201dthe spokesperson said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmfbg7bbm000g3b6nid8r0c76@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            London Fire Brigade said it was called about the incident at 5:01 p.m. local time (12:01 p.m. ET) and crews from at least three fire stations in the surrounding area have been sent to the airport.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmfbghuja000q3b6ndi39n9bm@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Heathrow has been plagued by a string of recent incidents. The airport completely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/03\/20\/europe\/london-heathrow-airport-shut-intl-hnk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shut down in March<\/a> following a fire in an electrical substation a few miles away, which disrupted the local power supply, throwing more than 1,000 flights into disarray and forcing pilots to divert their journeys in midair.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmfbgy58i00113b6ntkktsqq2@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Terminal 4 was closed for two years during the coronavirus pandemic, and it reopened on June 14, 2022.
