Aidan Sezer has signed an extension to his Hull FC contract, keeping him at the club for a further year. The Black and Whites’ captain was already signed up for the 2026 season, with all parties moving swiftly to tie the half-back up for a further year in 2027.<\/p>\n

Joining the club from Sydney-based NRL outfit Wests Tigers ahead of the 2025 season, the Australian skipper signed an original two-year deal with Hull, rekindling his relationship with former coach John Cartwright, who he first worked with at Gold Coast Titans.<\/p>\n

Making the most of that partnership, Sezer has hit top form once again under FC’s coach. He was third in Super League’s Man of Steel charts before they went into the dark back in June \u2013 behind Hull teammate Herman Ese’ese and Leeds Rhinos maverick Jake Connor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The experienced half has had a stellar campaign, making 25 appearances in all competitions to date. He has made 19 assists in Super League and, at 34 years old, has missed just two games all season \u2013 both due to a minor shoulder issue.<\/p>\n

A key leader of the side, Sezer has found a genuine connection at Hull, with the player telling Hull Live last week he’s very ambitious about where the club can go in the next couple of years.<\/a><\/p>\n

The half-back wants to be a part of the club’s future ‘achievements’ and said the following on his new deal: \u201cI\u2019m happy and grateful to be extending my time with the club \u2013 I’ve loved my time here so far and I really feel like we are moving in the right direction.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel a real connection with these fans, and taking to the field in front of them every week, home or away, is a genuine pleasure.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy sole focus remains to achieve something with this club and this special group of players over the next couple of years and reward that passionate support we have in the stands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sezer is Hull’s latest bit of retention, following on from the likes of Ese’ese, not to mention Cade Cust, Liam Knight, Harvey Barron, Lewis Martin, and co.<\/p>\n

For club director of rugby Gareth Ellis, it caps off another significant piece of business, with Sezer also tasked with bringing on the young spine players at the club, namely Callum Kemp and Jake Arthur, next season.<\/p>\n

\u201cAidan has been a significant addition to our squad in 2025, and we’re delighted to see him add a further year to his contract here in West Hull,” Ellis added. \u201cHis influence, both on and off the field with his leadership qualities and knowledge of the game, has been hugely impactful on our squad as a whole, but in particular on our younger players.<\/p>\n
