{"id":408980,"date":"2025-09-08T23:31:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T23:31:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/408980\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T23:31:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T23:31:14","slug":"google-rolling-out-flashcards-and-quizzes-to-notebooklm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/408980\/","title":{"rendered":"Google rolling out Flashcards and Quizzes to NotebookLM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/NotebookLM-Flashcards-Quizzes-cover.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/09\/02\/notebooklm-audio-overview-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new Audio Overview formats<\/a> last week, NotebookLM is rolling out Flashcards, Quizzes, redesigned Reports, and more learning tools today.<\/p>\n<p>From the Studio pane, you\u2019ll see two new options:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Flashcards<\/strong>: \u201cMemorize key terms, important dates and core concepts from your sources.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Quizzes<\/strong>: \u201cTest your comprehension and challenge yourself with custom questions based on your material.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tap the pencil icon to customize the number of cards\/questions and set the level of difficulty: Easy, Medium, or Hard. A prompt field lets you specify the topic. Both flashcards and quiz questions let you tap \u201cexplain\u201d to have NotebookLM \u201cgenerate a detailed overview, helping you understand a flashcard definition or explaining why you got a quiz question wrong, with citations pointing back to the original source material.\u201d This is rolling out starting today.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the <strong>Reports<\/strong> (also in the Studio tab) have also been redesigned. NotebookLM will now \u201cdynamically suggest options based on the theme, topic or industry mentioned in your sources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>For example, upload a scholarly article on economic theory and NotebookLM might suggest a glossary of key terms or a magazine-style explainer of the paper\u2019s implications; upload a draft of a short story and NotebookLM might suggest a character analysis or a detailed critique of the plot.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cBlog Post: Insightful takeaways that are distilled into a highly readable article\u201d is a new format alongside Briefing doc, Study Guide, and Create Your Own.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>You can now customize the NotebookLM chat with a \u201c<strong>Learning Guide<\/strong>\u201d conversational style.
