{"id":408984,"date":"2025-09-08T23:33:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T23:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/408984\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T23:33:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T23:33:10","slug":"house-democrats-share-screenshot-of-apparent-trump-birthday-note-to-epstein-jeffrey-epstein","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/408984\/","title":{"rendered":"House Democrats share screenshot of apparent Trump birthday note to Epstein | Jeffrey Epstein"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">House Democrats on Monday shared a screenshot showing what appears to be a letter signed by Donald Trump, the very same letter Trump had denied writing after reports of its existence were published in the Wall Street Journal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The letter was included in a set of birthday notes sent to the convicted sex offender <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/jeffrey-epstein\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeffrey Epstein<\/a> for his 50th birthday in 2003.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The note depicts a conversation between Trump and Epstein inside the sketch of a woman\u2019s torso. Trump\u2019s signature appears just below the drawing\u2019s hips in the pubic region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cHERE IT IS: We got Trump\u2019s birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein that the President said doesn\u2019t exist,\u201d the House oversight committee\u2019s Democratic minority wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OversightDems\/status\/1965125560016994708\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">social media<\/a> when releasing the image.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The screenshot mirrors the description published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/trump-jeffrey-epstein-birthday-letter-we-have-certain-things-in-common-f918d796?mod=hp_lead_pos7\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wall Street Journal<\/a> back in July, which first revealed the existence of the \u201cbawdy\u201d letter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">According to the Journal\u2019s reporting, the book and letter carried Trump\u2019s name, with typewritten text framed by the outline of a nude woman. It ended with the words: \u201cHappy Birthday \u2013 and may every day be another wonderful secret.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Beneath the waistline, a squiggly \u201cDonald\u201d appeared as the signature, stylized to resemble pubic hair.<\/p>\n<p>A screenshot of a birthday note allegedly written by Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein. Photograph: Oversight Dems via X<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Attorneys representing the co-executors of Epstein\u2019s estate handed over a copy of the so-called birthday book on Monday after receiving a subpoena from House oversight committee chair James Comer of Kentucky, a Republican.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The request followed a 25 July letter from Democrats Sylvia Garcia and Ro Khanna, who urged the estate\u2019s legal team to produce the material \u201cto assist in bringing transparency and accountability\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The volume, a professionally bound collection presented to Epstein in 2003, three years before his first arrest, featured notes from numerous figures in his social circle at the time, according to the Journal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Contributors reportedly included Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and the billionaire Leon Black. While some entries offered routine well-wishes, others contained sexual innuendo, provocative sketches, or photographs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Trump vehemently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2025\/jul\/18\/trump-jeffrey-epstein-letter\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denied<\/a> having written or illustrated the note, dismissing it as \u201ca fake thing\u201d and insisting \u201cthese are not my words, not the way I talk\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">He later filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2025\/jul\/18\/read-donald-trumps-lawsuit-against-wall-street-journal-and-rupert-murdoch-over-jeffrey-epstein-reporting-in-full\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defamation lawsuit<\/a> against the Journal\u2019s reporters, publisher Dow Jones and parent company News Corp. In response, a Dow Jones spokeswoman said: \u201cWe have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting.\u201d The lawsuit sought $10bn in damages and specifically named media mogul Rupert Murdoch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Meanwhile, the Trump administration has spent months shifting its position on whether Epstein-related files would be released or even if they existed at all, with Trump at one point calling them a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2025\/sep\/04\/trump-administration-news-updates-today-latest\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrat hoax<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The House oversight committee, with participation from Democrats and Republicans, continues to review Epstein-related records.
