{"id":409163,"date":"2025-09-09T01:08:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T01:08:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/409163\/"},"modified":"2025-09-09T01:08:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T01:08:12","slug":"rotherham-man-jailed-for-knife-attack-on-police-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/409163\/","title":{"rendered":"Rotherham man jailed for knife attack on police officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">A man who slashed a police officer with a knife during an incident in Rotherham has been jailed.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Glynn Leedell violently charged at the officer who, along with colleagues, was responding to reports of threatening behaviour at Kimberworth Park in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 46-year-old caused a slash wound to the back of the officer&#8217;s neck which required hospital treatment. A second officer received injuries to his hand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Appearing at Sheffield Crown Court on 29 August, Leedell, of Binders Road, was jailed for four years and six months after previously pleading guilty to wounding with intent.
